You idiot, did you not notice a lack of CD player when you test drove the car? When the salesmen went through the radio demonstration?

Also, CD's have been largely outdated technology for at least 10 years. It is time you caught up you old fart.

If you must have a CD player, buy one of these and plug it in to the aux port. Problem solved.

Chevy never informed me (or anyone) that I need to set-up a Pandora acct, or transfer CD's to thumbdrive, just to utilize their damn audio system.

Like I said, knowing that in advance I would have bought the Mustang GT with a CD player. Ford's got a better idea!

Now you know.
You managed to setup an account for this forum. That involved a longer process than Pandora. How did you manage that? It took more effort to come on here and complain than to setup Pandora.

OP had another thread on very similar topic a few months ago. We suggested portable CD player through aux back then. Probably the easiest and cheapest way to add CD capability to this car.

This is how we got labels on a jar of peanut butter saying, " Warning: Contains Peanuts" or a cup of coffee saying, " Warning: Coffee is hot" because people need labels and disclaimers on anything and everything because they are too lazy to research and/or use common sense....

Really a lawsuit against GM because they didn't tell you a car lacks a CD player? Stop wasting the courts time....

If you do some research (like I have), and talk to other people, there is a lot of complaints out there from people just like me. Not all of us are techno wizards, ok, and we want our CD's back. The current audio system is too complicated to use, and we should have been informed of this upon buying our cars. This could be considered negligence on the part of GM.

We are not all in the Pandora/thumbdrive/all songs on iPhone group, and we feel that there should have been a disclaimer informing us that buying this car requires an above average knowledge of technology. There should have been a warning.

I buy a 2SS and now I have to attend seminars on how to work the audio! GET THE HECK OUT OF HERE!
This may be the most over dramatic statement I've ever read on a forum. Congrats.

Also. How in the giant f..k could you make a liability lawsuit out of the fact that you eerroneaously assumed that all cars still come with optical drives?

Putting an mp3 on a thumb drive is a very basic skill to have--hardly above average. Do you not know how to transfer files from one folder to another? That's literally all you have to do. You probably shouldn't be using a computer if you don't know how to do that. Even my grandparents know how to do that much at least--and they definitely didn't grow up with computers.
Thanks for your help. I transferred a CD to USB several months ago, that's not the issue. The problem is all of my other CD's are compressed and when they are ripped the computer "cannot locate the file". Some kind of formatting issue. That is what's so damn aggravating.

So the issue is really the PC you're ripping your CD music to, rather than the car itself.

Digital music is generally compressed anyway, no matter where you source it from (even "lossless" is a type of compression). The Camaro supports the most common format, MP3, I believe among others. Whatever you're using to rip the music, ensure the output format is one the car will recognize, and that it's being sent to the right folder.

If you're trying to copy protected, DMCA music, you may have issues with that because of the anti-piracy stuff built into that format. I believe there are ways around that, too (after loads of outrage from people trying to put their own legally purchased music on mix CDs & thumb drives for their own enjoyment, DMCA-protected music kinda went away, so I don't really remember), but they're more complicated.

If you're unwilling to get a smartphone, perhaps something like a new-ish iPod, left plugged into the car all the time, is an alternative. I did that for years using an older iPhone with my 2010 Camaro 1LT after I switched to Android phones, since it didn't recognize Android's music format but was built around Apple's.

* Granted, I was negative sixteen years old when that happened, so I really don't remember it all that well.
