HUD and polarized sunglasses

During the day when I'm wearing my polarized sunglasses I have a hard time seeing the HUD display. I have the brightness turned up all the way and when it's really sunny out I can barely see it at all.

I know you taller people probably don't even need sunglasses, but I'm on the short side. Anyone else have this issue?

All kind of LCD monitors have polarized sheets , so it is not avoidable.

I use non polarized to drive, swap to polarized when I get out. Can't see the hud either.

The current generation of HUD in GM vehicles is far better than the old monotone with polarized glasses. The one in my C6 Corvette and '15 Acadia was not visible, but the C7 and ZL1 are with the same glasses. The entire point of polarization is to reduce glare and a HUD by function is induced glare.

I can see my hud, it just is not near as bright. I should have been more clear.

Just wish the brightness level could be increased so my glasses didnt wash it out. At night, it's TOO bright. Maybe a firmware update could increase the brightness level.

I'm an optomist.

I wonder why GM didn't link the HUD brightness with the headlights. Each night I have to manually turn down the HUD brightness, it gets annoying after a while.

That's a damn fine idea, hopefully on the next one.

Yup, just like everyone else. It is what it is. Then again don't need to wear sunglasses as often due to the low roof as compared to other vehicles with a lot of glass to see through, like the wife's Tacoma PreRunner. Feel like I'm in a fish bowl.
