I see that as well. Put me in that GT and the ZL1 would pass me.

ZL1 does sound much louder, could be because the windows were down? I wonder what traction control mode he was in as well.

The GT was pulling away in the straights. The ZL1 was catching back up in the corners. Basically the same power, but weight advantage GT.
Awesome video!

Its my video, i would like to have a 1le as well Just cant seem to get one. I think with the more tire and grip of the 1le vs a ford gt the pace may not be off very much.

Not even close. The Camaro is well outclassed' Both drivers need seat time. Yes the cars aren't near in class, apples and oranges.

I just got lucky, drove to three dealers all had access to the ZL1. Only one, Bob Weaver Chevy had an allotment.
The 10 spd had me really thinking though, but I grabbed the chance at the 1LE.

The fatter tires on the 1LE sure would have helped, and you did a nice job driving there McGrew. That GT is a very special car and with a "driver" behind the wheel would dispatch the 1LE quickly!

But, I'm only paying just over 70K for mine, that's a lot of car for that price.

Great video! Is your exhaust stock? I sounds louder than stock?

Good question - I was wondering the same thing. The car sounded awesome regardless.

My personal take on this is, this isn't an actual race. It appears to be a track event with people and their personal cars. They aren't going to tailgate each other, and there's no way the GT was going to have to wave the ZL1 by. So I believe the pulling away, while it could be certainly capable of doing so, was attributed largely to the courtesy and save driving of the event. Again, the GT may be able to legit pull away like that, I think it was more due to safety and courtesy for the track event.

As for exhaust sound, it's stock. The owner is here and explained the microphone for his cam is in the rear:

Luke, keep calling around until you find an allocation, or at the very least, give the sales managers your number.
Or keep that sweet 10 speed?
