Took the foam out last week and really like the sound I'm hearing now especially when accelerating between the gears. Is a loud roar combined with the sound of the CAI cold air system I installed. I'm leaving the foam out!

I recognize this was mainly for the manual cars but when I took the foam out in my A8, at first it sounded impressive but after driving around for a week without it, I put mine back in. It sounds 1000x better. I couldn't handle the gargle of the A8 flopping back and forth between V4 and V8.

I pulled mine last night and I had my first drive in it today. I have to admit that It is better to hear the engine than not. I like it.

I just managed to do this this afternoon and am loving the results. I struggled a bit trying to take it off, especially with the Mishimoto oil catch can in the way, but after 10 min, I was able to disconnect the tubes.

All I need is a good cat-back or axle-back and I'm set!

Did this mod yesterday. Changed the tone a bit but definitely louder in the cabin. Gonna leave the foam out. Still thinking about removing the secondary cats as well

i pulled this out the other day when washing my car and forgot all about it. been driving it for a few days and didn't realize i did it until this thread popped up....

DO IT!!! Everyone that I have gotten to try it had only good things to say about it. None of them have put the foam back. Someone really needs to post this in the LT1 section. Other Gen 6 owners need to know about this "sound tube mod"!

Wow I just did this and hell yeah I love it! Sounds WAY louder when the windows are rolled up. Sweet.

So for me a bit loud. So I trimmed foam about 75% off, takes the harshness out and a bit more sound...

Am I to assume it does not affect any type of warranty? I assume not in any way, but never assume, right? Does having a zl1 supercharged make any difference?

ZL1’s don’t have the sound tube. This is SS only. Best free mod (easily reversible too).
