6 speed manual transmission fluid capacity

So correct me if im wrong but i can't find anywhere in the owners manual the fluid capacity of the 6 speed manual transmission. It gives you a GM part number for the TYPE of fluid but no capacity. The rear differential is cut and dry with info 1.2 quarts and the type of fluid but not the manual transmission. Just curious. 2017 camaro 2SS. I did see something on here at one time about using 4 quarts ?

4qts is what it takes for a fluid change out. You will also need a fluid transfer pump of some sort as well.

You can always just fill through the fill plug until it starts leaking out a little. Thats what I have done on my cars in the past

+1 on the 4 quarts. Just changed mine and drained 3.65 quarts and replaced with 3.85 quarts (Royal Purple Synchromax) before it started dripping back out.
I've only had time for 1 twenty mile drive, but the synchros do seem happier.

Make sure the car is in neutral when you fill it and make sure if its jacked up, you jack up the car where its level. You can easily over or under fill depending on the angle of the car.

Well, if 0.2 liters (less than 7 fluid ounces) has me over filled, I've not had any adverse effect as yet and I don't plan to crawl back under there and drain a little bit!

Just changed mine today, lesson learned is save yourself the hassle and jack the transmission to remove the cross member it makes thing a lot easier.

Not sure of the part number but I'm sure it's posted on here somewhere. I switched to royal purple synchromax and noticed a difference immediately. Just my .02 but I feel there's a lot better options out there than the stock fluid.

The OEM fluid is garbage, seriously awful.

I went with old standby, AMSoil Manual Syncromesh, and the syncros immediately worked 10x smoother.

Thanks fellas. Is there a procedure to get most of the trans fluid out of the lines and cooler. On my BMW E92 M3 you could power up a wire on the transmission and it would clear the lines and cooler of fluid.
