Exhaust Sound Settings

Is there any test showing if there is a power difference between a silent and a track setting on our cars? Just curious.

No, but you "cant" go full throttle in silent mode, so you probably never will.

Think the owners manual even says this...since stealth never opens the valves, you're not supposed to WOT to redline in stealth mode. Guess the exhaust valves aren't designed for that

The only thing I can find is:
Quote:
The Engine Sound Management
setting (if equipped) should not be
set to Stealth Mode during track
events and competitive driving.
Still makes me curious as it's not an answer....

What is stealth mode and how do you select it? I would like to have mine quiet at start up so I don't wake up the whole house when I leave early for work.

When you start the car in stealth mode, the valves will be closed. They also stay closed during driving but I haven't tested it to see if they open like they do in Tour mode.

For me the value is put in stealth before shut off so I can start it the next morning with the valves closed.

Only exhaust setting you need is Track Mode.

That's enough to me to not want to take it to redline in stealth mode. Not saying I granny it in stealth, I prob keep it below 4K or so to be safe

All of my life I wanted a way to adjust my loud exhaust down.

Now that I can, I leave it in track 100% of the time. HAHAHA

+1 to you Sir

I do not want to be loud just to be loud. I would prefer less noise if it does not affect anything else so that's why I asked. Looks like a silent mode has a downside so what about the others? A track setting is a bit obnoxious to be honest and I would love to see some data if there is any performance difference with the rest.

On a side note I kinda do not like the amount of things to change every time you get in a car. It would be great to get an app for our radios to have a quick access to custom favorites for all of the settings you like. It's easy to do and Chevy should just do it.

This setting has disappeared from mine. The only setting under driving modes is steering. I know it was there at one time. How do I get it back?

Only thing I have seen is gm specs for the corvette. If you have the 455 hp vette and npp exhaust, npp worth 5hp and 10 tq vs no npp exhaust. Assume that would be track mode as it’s fully open.
