Any way to reset fuel map for 93 octane?

Hello all! Just traded my 15 SS 1LE for 18 SS 1LE. The only problem is that the dealer "while preparing the car for my arrival" put a full tank of 87 in it.

Since than I have burned off all remaining 87 and put 93 in. However, the car still has some drivability issues when just getting of the line. Also, throttle reponses seem to be more sluggish than on the other Camaro that I test drove.

Is there anything I can do to reset the computer, so that it forgets that it had 87 in it?

On the 5th gen there is a fuse you can pull. Is there anything like that on the 6th gen?

I've not heard of anyway to do it yet, but maybe some others have. If not I would take it back to the dealer and demand they reset it since they are the ones who caused it.

Just keep driving it with 93 in it. The ECU will trim back to normal with time.

I would disconnect the battery for a couple of hours. That should reset it.

Takes the ECU 150 miles to get all parameters reset after a change of things (mods, tune, fuel, airflow etc).

Dealership putting 87 is absolutely horrible. What kind of idiot puts non-premium gas in a car that REQUIRES premium? I hope they did not seriously cause issues with the injectors, engine itself, fuel pump and any fuel related with the engine... While it's not as bad as putting diesel in a gasoline vehicle but what they did CAN ruin the car... LT1 already hates even non top tier premium... I cannot imagine how it is with 87...

I really don't think it should damage anything. Especially considering I was keeping it in the mid range under light load, to ensure there's no detonation.

Owners manual actually allows 87, just recommends against it.

But yea, it was really running like crap, and apparently it's still recovering. I think so far I drove about 120 miles on 93.

Glad you were very smart about it, kudos! 30 more miles or so ECU will be back to normal. The car should already feel so much smoother and it will be back to how it should be stock once you hit 150.

My dealer did the same thing even with asking them to either put 93 in it or leave it empty. They only care about spending as little money as possible. My car is fine. Just babied it while the 87 was in the tank.

Just another misinformed poster is all. The fact is you can run 87 octane in these engines, but It's not something I would do. The ECM has low octane spark tables, so it's not going to blow up.

Yea, there was mention of damage to injectors, fuel pump, etc. None of those care what gas runs through their respective systems, so no harm there. It's about controlling pre-detonation, so running smooth and low stress by not pushing on it, you will be fine. As others have said, the manual says you can run 87, it just isn't recommended.

Now stale fuel, contaminated fuel, that is a different situation.

Your over thinking it. I put a tank of 87 by mistake in. No real difference.....
