So for clear bra its best to get the front bumper and some of the front quarter panels as well. But for the rear you want it in front of th rear tire?! Not behind the rear tire also?! Any rock chips showing up on the side skirts?

1. Washing the Hood...? What methods work best on that matte wrapped finish?

I just wash it like the rest of the car. I dry it after with a microfiber towel after.

2. Clear bra install? Got a quote for $1100 from my local place who has done several of my cars. That does not include the hood or anything behind the front fenders. Would it be a good idea to put some clear bra on any other particular area that may be prone to rock chips from these massive sticky tires?

I paid more than that for my installation, but I had the entire front bumper, headlights, lip, A pillars, first 12 inches of roof, front fenders, rocker panels, the impact area behind the rear tires, and a custom cut piece on each rear quarter above the line between the plastic rocker and the metal quarter.

3. Rev Match paddles...? I haven't used them at all yet - car only has 100 miles so far. When are these useful?

I engage rev match after i start the car, or if I forget after my first downshift without it and leave it on. I use it every time I drive the car.

4. Skip shift elminator? Is this a thing on these cars? I had done it on my 99 z28 and my 08 C6. Is there an easy way to stop the 1-4 shift nonsense?

I installed it on my car. I bought it from Phastek Performance. I drive in traffic a lot and it would force me into 4th gear in the middle of left turns when traffic wasn't going fast enough for me to be in 4th. After seeing it happen twice, my wife said it was a safety issue and to get the eliminator. My buddy helped me put it on. The space is very limited and it was not what i would call an easy install. there are also cooler lines in the way.

5. Exhaust options. Is there a way to increase exhaust sound without messing with emissions stuff or eliminating the performance exhaust on the car? For example, on my old 2016 Mustang 5.0 you could remove the resonator that runs between the cat pipe and catback muffler part to make the car louder without affecting anything else.

I just have my exhaust set to track mode all the time through the My-Link. It can be de-coupled from the driving mode.

6. On edit - one more question...Is there a simple way to elminate the amber front corner markers - like does anyone make a clear or tinted piece that I can swap in with a clear LED that lights up amber in color? I can't find that on any of the few aftermarket sites i've explored.
Ok, I think that's it for now. Appreciate any and all help/tips!!

I also saw diode dynamics products that do this. You can also get vinyl that is tinted to cover the side markers.

My clear bra covers the entire front cap/headlights/fenders, rocker panels all the way to the back, and side mirrors. I did not get the hood covered, seems redundant, and it's almost as cheap to replace the vinyl.

For the area in front of the rear tire, have them remove the factory ppf and cover the entire rocker panel. The rocker "kit" should include a piece behind the rear tires.

BTW, if you get your car tuned for any reason, have tuner pull out skip shift function.

1. Wash it like you would any other panel, use some matte detailer like the product Adams polishes sells.

2. I have a clear bra on my whole front end (not hood, including fenders), the mirrors, the rockers, an extended area in front of the rear wheels to protect from rock chips and a small area behind the rear tires.

3. Rev match paddles turn the active rev matching on and off for downshifting and upshifting. Its very accurate and can be useful in traffic when you cant be bothers rev matching yourself or when on the track for very accurate downshifts.

4. Skip shift eliminator is available from phastek performance, ~$20 or so.

5. Set the exhaust to be in track mode all the time through the settings menu and pull the foam out of the sound tube in the engine bay, sounds great if you aren't one of the die hard anti-sound tube guys http://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=500644

6. Diode dynamics sells LED side markers. Phastek has some tint strips available if you'd rather use those.

awesome help from all of you guys. I'm very appreciative.

I ordered those diode dynamics smoked LEDs for the amber and red side markers.

As for clear bra, I'll try to add the rear sections when I get the rest done next week.

I'm checking into keeping it in track (the exhaust portion, anyway). Among many other previous cars, the 2016 Mustang GT I sold had resonator delete midpipe with flowmaster outlaw muffler delete setup, so I am used to driving VERY loud cars...

1. Washing the Hood...? What methods work best on that matte wrapped finish?

I wash with Adams soap, follow up with Adams matte detailer. Works pretty well so far

2. Clear bra install? Got a quote for $1100 from my local place who has done several of my cars. That does not include the hood or anything behind the front fenders. Would it be a good idea to put some clear bra on any other particular area that may be prone to rock chips from these massive sticky tires?

I had the entire front bumper done for $600 with Xpel Ultimate, worth every penny. Even if you get rock guards, also add xpel on the quarter panels right in front of the rear tires. My car currently looks like a golf ball there from all the stone chips and abuse its taken. I am going to correct mine as much as possible and then get mine covered as well

3. Rev Match paddles...? I haven't used them at all yet - car only has 100 miles so far. When are these useful?

Every time you get in pull one of them once to turn rev match on. You're welcome

4. Skip shift elminator? Is this a thing on these cars? I had done it on my 99 z28 and my 08 C6. Is there an easy way to stop the 1-4 shift nonsense?

There is and the 1-4 seems to be a huge deal for many on here. Personally I initially thought I would install the eliminator but have found that the 1-4 shift rarely comes on and doesn't bother me at all

There are unmonitored secondary cats but will require cutting to remove. ( I had a 15 5.0 with roush ab and x pipe......thing SCREAMED. My 16 1LE with Borla S type can't compare in terms of volume although it is more agressive than stock. Plan on doing a secondary delete soon

6. On edit - one more question...Is there a simple way to elminate the amber front corner markers - like does anyone make a clear or tinted piece that I can swap in with a clear LED that lights up amber in color? I can't find that on any of the few aftermarket sites i've explored.

Diode Dynamics makes LED sidemarkers just like they did for the s550 mustangs. I will be picking up a set as I had a great experience with diode when I had my mustang.....outstanding customer service

Awesome, yea I had the Diode dynamics on my 16 5.0 too. They were great.

I had intended to get nuts with that car - actually bought a Procharger setup and the cam gear, opg etc etc ready to upgrade - Was shooting for 775ish RWHP...but for some reason it just didnt seem like the right move. I can't explain it. So, I traded that car for the STi and did some mods on that one, too. Still didnt feel right. The 1LE feels like I'm back home

1. Washing the Hood...? What methods work best on that matte wrapped finish?
I wash it normal like the rest of the car then use Adams Polish Matte cleaning
http://adamspolishes.com/adam-s-matte-detailer.html

2. Clear bra install? Got a quote for $1100 from my local place who has done several of my cars. That does not include the hood or anything behind the front fenders. I got my whole front and side skirts done for $580. I would suggest doing your side rockers and corner panels.

3. Rev Match paddles...? I haven't used them at all yet - car only has 100 miles so far. When are these useful?
I use them when the wife is in the car to have a smother shift. That's the only time.

4. Skip shift elminator? Is this a thing on these cars? I had done it on my 99 z28 and my 08 C6. Is there an easy way to stop the 1-4 shift nonsense? Yeah, for $25 there is a plug

5. Exhaust options. Is there a way to increase exhaust sound without messing with emissions stuff or eliminating the performance exhaust on the car? There are. I have not done any yet so cant give a full option

I did the Oracle lights. Not cheap but I got mine painted to match the car. Looks great imo
Ok, I think that's it for now. Appreciate any and all help/tips!!
Good luck with the car!

I actually planned on throwing a blower on my s550 as well or just waiting for a GT350 lol.....hadn't bought anything yet like you tho. Always wanted a 1LE and this gen was too damn impressive to pass up. Idk what your feelings are but I cant believe how much better the camaro is than my 5.0 (I loved that car....not bashing, the 1LE is just so much better across the board)

Wash/rinse hood like the rest of the car. Dry it first. A few sprays of Adams detail spray with a barely moist microfiber towel and it looks like new. Now Adams and Chemical Guys have a spray out specifically for matte surfaces and should be ideal for hood but I have no first hand experience.

Yes, I agree. My issue was that last summer my wife and I took advantage of that red tag sale and got her a 2016 2SS. I was blown away by how much better it was than my base auto GT

Did you use a local shop for your clear bra? I'm in San Diego too and picked up a 1LE last week. I've been calling local shops recommended in Yelp for clear bra and ceramic treatment services. Unfortunately the estimates are out of my budget at the moment, $2K and up.

I apologize for the thread jack.

thx
