In talking with someone else on the forum that purchased two camaros from Royal Chevrolet in Virginia he informed me that both of the cars he purchased were prepped and sitting out front ready for his pick up. My car was sitting in a side bay with no lights on covered in dirt and dust just more proof they were trying to hide the damage. It was a beautiful sunny day out when I picked it up. Beware if you purchase through this dealership seems to me they are up to some shady practices.

So, did this get resolved to your satisfaction? Really sad to hear about this.

Had the same issue, car looked great then after a few days went through a car wash that i use on all my cars without problem and noticed right afterwards swirls and scratches on entire car, not sure whether from the single car wash or from the "detailing" the dealer did just prior to car delivery.

Took car to Unique Car Care in Andover MA and they did paint correction which was very time intensive and costly; GM uses very cheap soft paint on these cars and the non metallic black is the worst apparently. Had the entire car coated with self-healing coating from Feynlabs called self heal plus, job very well done and now car scratches disappear in the sun or if deeper can make them disappear with hair dryer or heat gun... amazing stuff

Thin, thin and thin. Its the worst part of my car. GM has painted the front bumper and the lower rockers already. Its on me next time.

The car required an aggressive paint correction but looks good now. Is it perfect, no, but I can live with it. I was really suprised at how the paint thickness on the car varied from panel to panel. GM customer care gave me the run around for more then a month finally telling me there was nothing they could do for me. Lesson learned I will be sure to go over my next new car with a fine tooth comb prior to taking delivery.

I don't understand these companies. Paint quality is a big part of overall perceived quality. Whether it's a car, a house or whatever, people's opinions are driven greatly by appearance. How much does it cost to put a little more paint on the car so it's more durable? A million stone chips, polishing blow-through, and a general thin look and feel to the finish...these aren't cheap cars anymore. I don't expect a Bentley's paint job, but geez.
