The use of a Lash Cap finally explained!
I've been pondering the concept of the use of a lash cap and could never get a clear idea of when and/or how to use a lash cap to increase fueling. Finally, finally found a clear description on how to properly fit up lash caps!!
https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...learances.html Fyreant has a great set of "how to"s in this forum of which I am using like a series of classes on the LT1 engine. Kudos to Fryeant for all of his hard work on the corvette forum. |

Thanks for the link. It makes me wonder why some companies say even with the 32% lobe you dont need a lash cap.

I had come across that post on Corvette Forum several days ago. Its a good explanation, but ensuring the lash cap gets installed correctly by the shop doing one's build would still be a worry for me. And how many shops install them without using the tool.

I'm planning on a major tune later on. Even though the local speed shop has a great reputation regionally, I still have a laundry list of questions I plan to ask when I get the tune done. In particular, how do they plan to approach a possible fueling issue if they run out of headroom on fuel delivery. A lash cap will be part of that discussion. |
