Dealer was cordial but didn't want to sell a car today. First they stood on MSRP, then suggested supplier pricing, but didn't want to get anywhere near the $39-42k range I see folks commonly getting around here. On top of that they made an insulting offer on my Cadillac, so no deal. While I don't need to sell the V I also don't see much sense in hanging onto it as it's just a fun car, as would be the 1LE.

Welcome to Colorado. Because we are so far from other major markets, almost all cars are more expensive here. You can save a ton of money by going to a different state to buy. Even California is cheaper because there is a lot more competition. cars.com is your friend.

If you really want to cry, take a look at a Colorado ZR2. Dealers in Colorado are getting full MSRP+, in other states they are $4-6k off MSRP.

COmaro: Yup, that's what I have done for most of my cars.. Flew to San Jose for my V, Seattle for our X5M, Phoenix for our Cayenne Turbo, Las Vegas for my E55, etc etc. Our market is just too small to support competitive pricing or negotiation unfortunately, and the dealers look at you like you have two heads if you bring any inkling of knowledge of this to the table.

While I was at the 1LE dealer I said something to the effect of "you and I both know it only takes $1k to ship a car across the country", and the sales guy shrugged and nodded.

They clearly wanted to try and extract MSRP out of someone for the car, and maybe they will, but not from me.

yes...my blue 1LE on their fb. i'm happy with their work, i think probably they are the best around for GM, Ford, Dodge.
