Tuner locked out?!?

So my car had ProCharger's tune in it. I dropped it off to get a few updates, and they use HPTuners....they returned it to stock, and now the car has no communication and has apparently locked them out. On top of it, it won't even turn the fuel pump on, so it's dead. They tell me the only thing I can do is go to the dealer and have them unlock it.

Anyone experienced this?

Checked it out....ECM is officially bricked. Tuner returned the flash to stock, then started the car, it ran like junk. He then tried to flash it back to the boosted tune and it would not communicate with the pcm. Neither HPTuners or my original SCT could communicate. Just get an error code from the SCT of 11020.

Luckily a new ECM is $172 from Rock Auto, and the dealer only charges $135 to flash it stock. Now I just need to verify with ProCharger that the SCT will continue to work with the new ECM.

172 for an ECM? that seems really really cheap. but either way, that's good news.

Yup. Bought it from Rock Auto, verified the part number through the dealer, cross referenced to the vin. It is listed as just an ECM, ironically.

You needed to have flashed it back to stock before they started on it with hptuners. I've read loads of people have problems on various cars trying to overwrite tunes using different devices. Surprised your tuner didnt know that.

They copied the ProCharger tune, loaded the stock and copied that as well. Turns out the car timed out while loading the stock from the SCT. The car start button wasn't held long enough to actually turn the car on and have it stay on. When it timed out after 5 minutes, it killed the ECM. I talked with him and he's never had the issue, mostly because HPTuners loads the tune a lot faster then the SCT does. It just turned out to be an expensive, albeit not as expensive as it could have been, lesson.

I'll be buying HP to work on it myself once I recoup from this oops.
