Even if those areas were used on a lift during assembly, I wouldn't use them for a jack. A jack applies force in a totally different way than a lift does.

I'm sticking with the jack points that GM says to use, along with the ZL1 addons jack pads.

Has anyone tried to jack the front of the car up from this center point (circle in blue)?

do you have a low profile 4ft long jack to reach the center of the car ?

just get a set of ramps.

talking about a dead horse.... jack on each side at the pinch welds like you're supposed to. Put jack stand under. then move to the other side. repeat. No instructions or guides or questions should be needed. Pretty much any car made in the last 40 years is jacked up the same way.

IF its an option.... i can drive my car on to some wood and lift from that area.......so it would cut out having to lift the car on each side.

yes this car has clearly marked jack points, but even using a standard jsize jack pad it takes some precision placement...which is why i highly recommend ZL1 Addons's lift points.

i also have ramps, but then they are only good for services not requiring wheels to come off.

meh. i never needed to break out any extra tools other than my eyes when jacking the car up. They're pretty straight forward places. There's nothing special about the camaro in this regard.

As for the ramps, what service are you doing that you need both wheels off at the same time? It's unlikely that you have a crew working each side at the same time. Even if for some reason you did need both off at the same time, you aren't saving any real time (1 minute maybe?) by trying to jack in the center vs just jacking each side up.

You're putting jack stands on either side of the car anyway if you are jacking it up on some center spot. Unless you're an idiot and not using jack stands at all while holding the car up with a hydraulic jack. Hopefully nobody is suggesting that that's what they're doing because it's probably a sucky way to die.

Second, there are actually 6 cut outs exposing the correct lift/jack area. 3 on each side. The "lift" points would be the closest ones to the tire. The second cutout in the front (further from the tire) is for "jacking". Third, if you are going to a dealer who does not know to use the pinch welds to lift....You really need to find a new dealership, as this was a problem when these cars first hit the streets. I believe there are even some cases of body damage/dimpling quarters/ ect... Hopefully that clears up some confusion.
Yes...just what I said before. Listen to this guy.

If you don't want to put very slight bends in the pinch welds, then get the ZL1 add-ons jack pads. its that simple folks.

Last but not least, you can also jack up the rear at this point (red box below, inside of that where you see the white label) which is great for getting the rear up, and then putting jack stands under the designated jack locations in front of each rear tire.

if you get the ZL1 Addon Lift points, i would buy a set of these to go with it.

they have rubber tops and work well with them.

That blue section is hollow aluminum and acts as a shear panel. I wouldn't jack from there. There's actually a steel beam underneath that, which would be suitable to jack from, but it's not practical to remove the aluminum shear panel each time. The I4/V6 cars don't have the shear panel, so have access to that additional jacking point.
