Half Camaro SS
This may be old news and I found it 2 months ago since owning a ZL1, but this is one badass car...
I like it https://www.flyinmiata.com/V8/ND.php

Not 50k worth badass to me. And thats without the donor car. Now technically i do not fit in a Miata so maybe that is why i am biased. However, for roughly 70k i think i could do better.

Two guys in my SCCA region have LS swaps into small cars, one is a 240SX which is INSANE, and another guy has a S2000 with an LS, but I have never seen it run before. The compactness of the LS, or well any SBC makes it a great engine for these small cars. If there was some way to quiet down the exhaust note a bit so that it wasn't immediately noticeable that something was up they would be the ultimate sleeper.

Holy shit that is way too expensive for that! Totally agreed. Can buy a Zl1 1LE for the same almost.

It's a fun problem to have though. I imagine tire widths starting with the number 3 will be in order.

What you need to do is put an LS3 in a Solstice.

I have the wife's '90 NA Miata sitting dead in the basement. A little 4.8 swap might be neat

The great things about LT1/LS motors is the size. Not much bigger than a Miata 4 banger. Compare it to a 5.0 Coyote which is HUGE. You really can damn near stuff an LT1 into anything.

Camaro ZL1 1LE - 3,800 lbs - 560 WHP - About 6.8 lb / HP Miata LS3: - 2,600 lbs - 450 WHP - About 5.7 lb / HP I was watching the Smoking Tire review and the guy from Flyin' Miata seems to have stumbled over his own numbers at some point, so its kind of fuzzy. He said the Miata was 2,330 lbs stock and they added 270 lbs to it for a total of "2,400" when in reality this sums up to 2,600. I'm going with 2,600 as the LS3 Miata's curb weight since this is what they advertise on their site as well. Either way though, its power-to-weight ratio is a fair bit higher than the Camaro ZL1 1LE. It would definitely win in a straight line if nothing else.
