Only a tad, most tunes like to keep it around 62,500 or so.

Some of these gauges have been scanning the wrong PID's off the OBD2 data.
(obviously there is no IAT2 for these cars) I saw one the other day that said "IAT" But it was actually reading the Trans Temp...and labeling it IAT (when I double checked the data with another device that allows me to read the raw data off the CAN) So the guy was like "My IAT is 203 degrees".... I was like... well actually your trans is 203 degrees.... your IAT is 78. LOL. So make sure everything jives on these new cars. Each model sometimes the CAN data addresses change, yet the gauges/monitors don't always know that. |

However, make 100% sure your MAF harness doesn't have a pin that got pushed out of the harness. (basically, push on all the wires, and make sure they are fully seated) I have heard of them backing out, when the extension harness is plugged in. |

Found a few issues.
Pulled out pins on the MAF extension cable ![]() And a cracked MAF sensor. No idea how this happened. It does sit close to the fan shroud but not touching. Maybe under hard acceleration it moved enough to hit it. ![]() ![]()

If you trim the end of the silicon tube (by the throttle body) about 1/4 of an inch.
It won't touch anything near the fan. Some cars are a little different then others. So we left that tube just a tiny tiny bit long just in case. (if it was to short it would rub on the bracket) That pin can just be slid back into place until it clicks in. Then you will be good to go. |

. Would I be better off running the metal tube like what comes in the race kits?

It's even bigger so you will spend more time trimming it to get it "just right" to fit without hitting anything. Plus you don't get the insulation effect of the silicon, AND your tune would have to be totally redone for the new MAF location. The silicon tube is awesome, and its what I would run on my personal car. |
