Hot Rod magazine did a head to head auto vs manual with Jeff Lutz Driving. 12.21 auto vs 12.40 manual. Pretty close to the average of the top list. Auto is faster same track, same driver, same day, but both pretty impressive.

Congratulations on reading every post for the last year and a half. Some of us have other commitments and don't have time for that.

Another data point that confirms our own fast list. These are legitimate 12.2 and 12.4 seconds cars on average (A8, M6). Hero runs drop another 3ths.

The 60' tells the whole story between the 2 cars.

Provided traction is taken out of the equation, the A8 has an effective ratio of 12.63 in first gear (4.56x2.77) while the M6 has a smaller 9.92 (2.66x3.73). You gear jammers also have to slip the clutch while us simpletons just point and shoot.

I started doing the math on the M6 fast list to find the difference in 60' times between the two and I messed up like three times...... before I realized that their is no #7 car listed ? Anyone else notice that too ??

I didn't notice the missing 7th. When I averaged, I just entered them into a spreadsheet and used the average function on the column so the mislabel didn't affect the numbers I posted

Eliminating the M6 runs with the missing 60' and the 13.179.

Average 60' time are...
A8 - 1.868 sec
M6 - 2.042 sec
delta = 0.174 sec

Average 1/4 time are
A8 - 12.172 sec
M6 - 12.438 sec
delta = .266 sec

ran a few consecutive 12.3-12.2s then did something right off the line this run. I feel like mph was down a little might have been too excited to feel that 1.8 60' it messed me up shifting a little late I wish I had a gopro or logged the run to see what happened either way I think its time to start going for the mod list with some radials tune and e85 going for the 100% stock times is fun though.

One thing I have noticed is the A8 list has kinda fell off...like the last top ET there was back at post 512, which was back in November of 2016. Nobody has run an 11.9x in a stock car since then. While the M6 list keeps on improving and getting better and better (even with less than stellar DA) with all it's top times coming recently, including another 12.1 just posted a couple above this post. Now, some of that is M6 drivers getting more used to their cars, but why aren't any A8 drivers getting the top times anymore? Kinda odd...

Yup, which makes me wonder why this past winter there were no more 11.9x runs by A8 cars...Dec-Feb should have had the best DA's.
