ILE No Badges
Unless they surprise us, I wonder why there are no 1LE Badges ANYWHERE on the car :(
I sure miss the days of the CID/HP Decals on the CHROME air cleaner from days gone by. It would sure be nice to see a 1LE Special Edition Engine Cover. Hey GM ![]() Can we hope/pray for a late production change? |

Yes, 1LE on the brake calipers....that's all I want, frankly. Personally not a fan of too many badges.
Besides - it's a ZL1 first...1LE second. And there are four of those badges on the car.

Who cares? That was then, this is now. Things change with the times. At car shows I laugh at every single car that has a non production badge on it. Its just sad that some feel the "need" to put the displacement or let everyone know they have X model yet everyone knows it.

If I could, I would take every badge off of my car. If people don't know what it is by looking at it, then they don't know what it is.

I'm pulling the badges off the rear and splitter. I'll leave on the cowling, that's the only place they make sense to me. Not sure how I'm going to take it off the front, may have to gently saw the plastic off, the back is just dental floss and goo gone.

Just like how they don't put Z51 badges on Corvettes. It's a ZL1 with an options package, not a sub-model of the Camaro.

You'll see people up-fitting their LT's and SS's to ZL1's, but the car will not have the same original collector's value of that of a production original. Original factory installed badging might not be a value to some of you today, but I plan on keeping this car for 20+ years and I can guarantee that original badging will be a sought after item. Example; Have you seen the current value of an original 67-69 Production Chevrolet HiPo Chrome Air Cleaner these days? Nuff said. |

I don't really like any chrome on my vehicles, and I see that there is going to be a few pieces around the car. I would love to change the rear ZL1, front ZL1, and I am hoping there aren't any badges on the CF piece on the hood. The Flowtie would be the toughest part to cover up, I gather.

I like the mystery of the car. People never believe me when I say, "I bought it like this."
