Im a noob
|
I never meant for this thread to go this far I'm just saying the only issue I had with my 2000 4th Gen Z28 was the cats went out around 60k miles and chevy replaced them for free.
My 5th Gen SS had zero problems. My now 6th Gen had the rear end moan, paint sucks, apple car play sucks, metallic vibration in my npp exhauset, the tach goes nuts, ect. Yes the 6th Gen is built better with better parts but mine has more problems. I may buy the 7th gen later in its life or buy a used one. |

Yes. Those cars all had cheap garbage interiors and were complete junk rattle boxes. Fast rattle boxes. In fact last few years of the F-body, 1999-2002, used about the cheapest, hardest plastic you can find. And it was a sea of gray to boot.
The nightmare of pre-bankrupt GM reared it's ugly head there. Bankruptcy was the best thing for GM. They needed to change, flush the drain of all the old ways of doing things, and start building cars the right way. |

not to mention Car and Driver did a long term test to over 40K and said the same thing. It was tight as a drum at the end of the test. Stop misinformation. |

No misinformation here. You're just another "GM has never built a bad car in their history" excuse maker. Again, huge difference in their cars pre and post bankruptcy. |

...in other words you claim you drove a car that was worn out and rattled to 3rd gens that rattled from the day they rolled off the assembly line.

Oh come on consumer report people. High powered engine and you complain about the gas mileage, sports car and you complain about the trunk space. Did these clowns no do any research or test drives when purchased their cars. The six gen camaro is a great and reliable car. I loooooooooooves mine.

Just because you and C&D had ones that didn't rattle right off the line doesn't mean that was the norm, in FACT it was not. Those cars had the cheapest plastic prone to cracking and rattling and it was not much better than the third gen. But that was the norm for ALL General Motors cars from that era, even Cadillac. It was partially, directly responsible for the company coming this close to oblivion. I'm glad they've turned things around, as evidence by the fact I bought one because it's up to my expectations of quality, but my God when I see complete, blinded apologists like you it sometimes makes me wish President Bush would have told Rick Wagoner to pound salt! |

if i was an apologist i wouldn't say the 3rd gens had extremely flexible bodies since they're my favorite generation. if you hate GM so much why are you here? i've heard from others familiar with you that you've been doing it for years.

The paint finish and panel gap on mine is very nice. I wrapped the front in Xpel so I can't comment on whether it chips easily. I daily drive it and Wisconsin winter didn't damage the wrapped or unwrapped areas. The trunk lid did rub the paint off the filler panel ahead but its not really noticeable
After 10,600 miles and having driven it in -10º F to +100º F, I’m with Car and Driver

This isnt just a Camaro/Chevy issue. Fords, Hondas, Hyundai. Unless you are buying ultra premium this is the new norm.
