Question Heat coming up on drivers side with top down

Has anyone else noticed a ton of heat coming from the floor/pedal area on their drivers side with the top down???

I have not had anyone notice it on the passenger side even when asked. Seems like unless I am running the AC on the floor, no matter the temp setting, if the environmental controls are off, on vent, or on the windshield, I have a lot of heat on my legs. Even on nice evenings where its a little cool I am still hot!!!! You can put your hands on both sides and only feel it coming up from the drivers side. My husband drove my car to the grocery store this evening and he finally noticed it too. It mostly happens with the top down but also happens with windows open.

Is anyone else experiencing this??
Car is a 1LT RS 2.0T

I have not noticed this. The temps on the floor vents follow whatever the controls are set at for me. I had the heat on a little bit with a 55F degree ride into work this morning.

Sorry to hear this is happening to you. I haven't had any issues. Not sure if it matters, but I have a 2ss.

I have a 2SS convertible and haven't noticed this on my car. Maybe put a small thermometer on both sides to measure the temperature difference and then talk to a service advisor at the dealer.

I have a 2SS convertible and noticed the same issue. Did not have the temperature controls on, but noticed the temperature dials were set to 74. I turned down the temperature to the high 60's, it seemed to take the heat away. I am going to continue to monitor to see if there is heat on drivers side.

2SS vert here also. I have no issues like what you're experiencing. It's very interesting that it only happens when the top is down or with the windows open.

I noted with my last car that I would get hot air when the AC was turned off. I wonder if the vent continues to pull hot air in with the AC off. Turning the AC down even with the AC off also helped.

It's not just with top down - I have a hardtop coupe that exhibits this exact issue. Constantly when it's cool outside

same happens in my car; its a coupe.
When the temp control in the car is set higher than the ambient outside air temp, heat moves thru the ducts into the cabin. turn down the temp control in the car below the outside air temp and it seems like the damper closes off the heat.

It appears the damper that flaps between the heat core and ac coil is always moving back and forth depending on outside air temp and cabin temp control setting. It doesnt matter if the system is on or off. Just a guess, but that is what seems to be happening. i always have fresh air open, not sure what happens when recirc is activated......
Just my 2 cents FWIW.

It doesn't seem to matter what temp I have it set at. I even put it on LOW and it still won't stop unless the system is on and have AC on.

The temps have been in the 80s-90s here in day, so having it hot on my side makes me want to keep the top up and ac on... even at night when its nice and cool with the sun down! :(

ETA I don't think it matters if its a coupe or not.... I had a mazda miata that never had this problem, and my other two camaros didn't do it either, even the one with the t tops.
I have also tried it on recirc and off, doesn't seem to matter if the AC is off.

Thank you for all the responses

I rode in the passenger seat a few times to go get ice cream (top up and down) and its definitely different, no hot air.

I have noticed it more at highway speed ... just took first 4hr road trip in it last week and it was happening some even with the top and windows up. There has got to be some sort of insulation missing in my car, or something of that type... thats what it seems like. Its even more noticeable since the temps have gone up here, high 90's and into 100s.

I think I may be taking it in for the first oil change soon so I am going to have them look at this while its in. Super annoying!!!!

My 14 Vette had a heat problem along with many others. GM reprogrammed the air software and it helped.
