Get headers and tune. Then you are good.

I've driven one extensively, they're very quick with simple bolt ons if kept in the power band (especially DCT cars). Where they lack is pulling out of corners at lower RPM. You'll probably get the jump with more torque and I would image you'd keep pulling slightly since you're an A8.

The SS with the A8 is neck to neck with the new F82 M4 which is much much faster than an E92 M3. Especially from launch it spanks the M4 so I wouldn't worry about an older M3.

And for the record the interactions that I witnessed were from a 50 mph roll.

Tires and practice. We where messing around with my buddies 2016 SS last weekend doing some 0-60 runs. He was in the 4.5 - 4.7 range every time. Grabbed a set of DR's off his Vette and tried again. 4.2 on the first try and eventually 4.0.

Biggest problem I have with my 50th is getting the power down without blowing the tires off in 1st gear.

Yep, that's exactly why the previous gen M3 put down straight line numbers comparable to the current gen. It's difficult to get power to the ground because all of that torque comes in so early.

The TC system in the new one is too intrusive as well, and they obviously have a different interpretation of "launch control", as there's way too much wheelspin.

The previous gen is no joke.

I ran a newer M4 with my mods. Wasn't a good race for him. Stock would have been close. I believe my car would have taken the older M3 stock vs stock no problem. Of course this was at the track. My track only gives me my side of the timeslip so I don't know what he ran or trapped.

From a dig, you will jump out on him a car at the least. Definitely a drivers race.. If he doesn't use LC, you will jump farther out. From a roll it's closer than you think.

You can see this video, I'm M6, and I literally rolled out of the clutch and didn't get on it until 3500 where you can hear it, and he was full throttle from the get go. Mind you, I'm Supercharged so I let him get the hit, but it illustrates the point of that motor being lazy down low.

Guess now you have the excuse to get some headers and tune. Then tell him "it was only downpipes and tune, bruuuhhhhh"....and you will sound substantially better.

Then he will disappear for awhile.

When he comes back.. S/C or cam.

FTW!!!!!
