I honestly don't think Ford will produce another FPC V8, and the supercar makers who specialize in these have gone turbocharged, and I don't think Porsche will do another as they seem to enjoy doing 1 run of very special engines and then never repeating them (Carrera GT V10, 918 FPC V8, etc.). The compromises are certainly known, and considering the size of the thing, there are certainly a number of drawbacks that become apparent regardless of how many benefits. And very valid points considering high mileage units. Nobody knows as of right now, but for me it isn't a daily driver and mileage will remain fairly low. I work on a rotation (14/7), so given that 6 months of the year is "summer" per se, and I'm away for 2/3's of that time, I only get maybe 8 weeks of the year to use the car haha Quote:
Uncork the Voodoo similarly and you would be looking at more hp than the XS. The Aluminator absolutely does rev and make good power, but the benefits of the FPC are more hp at higher rpms; same crank in the XS and it would make more power again. |

So what did they do, they deleted my post and banned me after one post. I am sure Upchuck Canuck knows all about it since he posted insults and he is still sticking to how he is with insults over here. As far as I can tell the Rustang6g fanboys are really sophomoric when it comes to intelligence and the Camaro guys really have a higher level of education.

See what I did there? I think that is ignorant, and the same way you responded to me. It is that type of mannerism that I don't like and I think is rude. To be 100% fair, I apologize for singling you per se over on the "other side". It absolutely isn't just you, but I happened to read your comments saying that the car was pathetic and a POS and yes it rubbed me the wrong way at the time. Not in the way that it makes me think any less of my car, but in the sense that I guess I just expect better of people. I've never seen a reason to call anyone's car a POS or to bash what others own, as it's just not good nature. Maybe I was a little off that day for naming you, and for that I apologize, as I wasn't keeping in line with my own beliefs. Some of your points I actually agree with. I've never been a fan of the ADM stuff, and didn't have much choice where I live. But I'm not sure how you "called me out" on it, as I never pretended to get the car for MSRP, and I certainly wasn't bragging or boasting speaking about it. I very simply explained what I paid and the why. To be quite frank, over the course of my career over the next 25-30 years, $5000 is simply inconsequential. It never affected my life in any way and was still well within my means. I don't know if I'll be here next year, as anything could happen, so I don't see the benefit in worrying about it. Chances are it is the only car like this I'll ever buy as I have other priorities, so I knew I had to be certain when buying. The fact that I was willing to pay that little bit more, and now don't regret it at all, confirms to me that I made the right choice. If I felt regret at this time, I would know that I made a mistake in my car choice. And yes sir, I would do it again if I had the time back, and don't regret my decision. I'm not here saying BTW that the R is a better sports car than the Z06 or the Viper, as those cars are in an entirely different league, but it IS a better fit for me personally based on what I like in a car. Just as a GT4 would still be a better fit for me than those 2 even though it is that much slower again. And that's great if you don't care, but you should. There isn't any reason at all for different groups of enthusiasts to be hating on each others cars, to be spewing "troll" nonsense whenever someone is on a forum of a car they don't own. It just separates groups of people who all love cars for no reason. You don't have to go defend your car over there, because myself and many others do it for you, just as I've seen a number of real enthusiasts discuss both cars in here. I don't see anything at all wrong with the Camaro or ZL1, I might prefer the car I have, but doesn't mean I can't enjoy and respect the "competition". The whole "I don't care" attitude works in the short run man, but everyone is a little better off when they look out for each other rather than only caring about oneself, just sayin. |

Can you show me where I "insulted" you? I might have responded to you over there once or twice, but I don't recall you posting anything towards me such that would warrant any insults. The only 2 people I've directly insulted was "MCarsFan" who came on bragging about how much more money he had, and another guy who called some group of people "bums" because they weren't as well off as he. Trying to say any group of car owners are more intelligent than another is just silly. Come on man, you and at least one other don't understand what context means, how intelligent can you be I know you had a bad experience with Ford, and it's clearly tainted you because you are against them 100% in every way. And it's unfortunate really, because the big 3 are all like that sometimes, they largely don't care if they piss off or lose 1 customer as there are 2 others who were pissed off by the competitors that they can gain back.

Upchuck Canuck's idea of not paying too much in ADM.....This must have been a GT350R buyer that wanted one of each...

I think it is funny when someone says something and as the old saying goes, "they are really asking for it!" and when they get it; they don't like it.

I will add...I don't like the GT350R. I do like the Mustang GT tho...despite it's performance deficit compared to the SS. I don't like that dealerships take advantage of people who want the GT350R...and I hate that people are willing to allow themselves to be taken advantage of. But it isn't my money so I have no say in it. I would never insult a person's car. When I said the GT350R was a "POS", I wasn't talking about anyone's car in particular. I was saying that the price of it, along with the ADM, and the fact that it is stripped of certain creature comforts and still couldn't beat the fully optioned ZL1...along with it being a $65K car (MSRP) that only does a 12.2 in the quarter...all those factors makes it highly undesirable to me. And I said that was my personal feeling towards it. Now I get that it isn't a straight line car. But you Mustang guys called the Hellcat a "one trick pony) because it is a straight line car and doesn't corner well. But you defend the GT350R for being good in the corners and not soo good in a straight line. So the GT350R is just as much of a "one trick pony" as the Hellcat. Plus you Stang guys made fun of the HC guys for ADM yet you turned around and did the same thing. And furthermore, at least the HC had full options. See where I'm going with all this? Those are the reasons I detest the GT350R as much as I do. It is nothing personal and I would never insult an owner to their face. Outside of all that, they are nice and they look nice. And I was an enthusiast. But I've started to gravitate towards Chevy since Ford hasn't been putting up much of a fight. Maybe things will change. If so then I'll be back in the middle. But until then I am more towards Chevy. But coming from your site where you guys sat for all those months talking about how we overpaid for our Camaros and how we were getting beaten in sales figures and all the other trash y'all talked, you can't really come over here preaching peace. Especially when other guys over there who were enthusiasts constantly got bashed by your purists and loyalists whenever they tried to make objective comments that didn't favor the Mustang. Heck right now you and a few other guys have been bashing a ZL1 owner in your thread over there. Don't expect us to not do the same. |

I can see why it wouldn't be a desirable car for you, and don't blame you for not liking it. I also agree that it could be considered just as much of a "one trick pony" as the Hellcat, as it certainly isn't breaking any drag racing records. To be 100% honest, when I bought my R, I have said to my father numerous times (who has a 15 Z51 Vette that I helped him spec), that his car has far more to offer in terms of comfort, build quality, interior materials, etc. and that for the amount I paid for my R it should have some aspects of the interior upgraded compared to the basic models. In terms of the trash-talking and other facets, I have never been a party to that stuff. I've never been a Mustang fan really, have never considered buying one or owning one until this car. I wouldn't have been around when they poked fun at Hellcat ADM's, hell I wasn't aware that they also had to deal with that. From the outside it seems Ford is perfectly happy selling the inferior car in terms of performance, the only they care about is money really. They sell a slightly lower performing car for a little cheaper, and from the sales figures it looks like the lower price probably makes the difference. Those of us on the forums are the enthusiasts, but there are tons of buyers out there for almost all cars who just want to get something to be seen in, or just to cruise around in who don't care at all about just how capable even the 5.0 and SS are nowadays. I've always been an enthusiast, and love cars with a passion. If I had enough money I would be like clone of Jay Leno... LOL I know some of the guys are giving that one fella a hard time, but I don't mind his posts as I've mentioned numerous times. If someone can debate and discuss different cars without getting too heated, I don't mind that one bit as it makes things interesting! Cheers!
