If you check lubricated bolts have lower torque specs(by 25%). It has to do with less friction on the threads. The torque wrench reads the resultant of everything the bolt touches which a lot has to do with this friction. So if you apply lubricant the resultant torque to achieve proper preload is reduced. |

I had a thumping noise that turned into a bad rattle. The strut is screwed up. Waiting for new strut to come in and fix the car.

Update:
Coated the wheel mating surface with thin layer of anti size and torqued to 120 not 140. So far so good! Absolutely not noise, but I probably could've done even less anti seize, the excess has been slung from the hub to the inside barrel of the wheel. Nothing a wash can't fix but worth noting.

I didn't. Just standard anti seize. We'll see how it holds up at this weekends auto X. Got a 2 day event @ ZMAX.

ticking keeps coming back for me, even after torquing to 140 ft lbs. It will be fine for a couple days, a week or two etc. but keeps coming back.

Dropped my ZL1 in to the local dealer this morning or lock turn clicking at med-low speeds.. I'm guessing mine will come out with the same response.
Also, it seems I have the NPP rattle on my passenger side tip as well -- not having that messed with until after my track day in August. |

I had the ticking noise after picking my car up. Torqued to 140 ft lbs and it hasn't come back

So I have the same clicking noise but only when I auto X. Did anyone mention that the clicking noise is the Ediff doing its thing? Makes sense to me. I never hear it driving around town. Thoughts???
