Ported tbody issue
No names, I'm not trying to start a bash.
I just tried installing a ported tbody on my Z and it IMMEDIATLY popped codes about the "throttle body sensor bank high and low " and the car ran like complete shit, and struggled to idle. I checked everything and then rei stalled the stock system. Car ran fine. Rei stalled the after market--- same issue. And back and forth two more times to make sure I didn't mess up the install SOMEHOW. Anyone have any ideas before I send it back? UPDATE!!!!!! So I will let you know the company in question is Katech. The reason being is that they have been outstanding with fixing the situation. When I called and reported the issue, one of their techs called me back immediately and let me know they had had a bad batch go out and overnight ed me a new, tested one, no questions asked. Mistakes happen....customer service like this is what keeps us coming back in spite of it. Highly recommend them. Drive-ability wise...I noticed an IMMEDIATE change in throttle response and smoothness of power delivery. To anyone that is thinking about doing either a CAI or Tbody mod I HIGHLY recommend them both. Completely changes the feel of the car.

Maybe check the connection where the plug goes in and ensure there's no debris or anything in there that would prevent a good connection with the plug. I'm sure whoever you got it from will take it back if it's defective. |

Send it back and simply don't do this mod. At least you didn't send back the original for core yet.

Seems like the aftermarket one was over ported and is making shit go crazy at idle. I even tried swapping electronics between them to rule that out. Le sigh. Guess it goes back.

ummm i think you should name the company so buyers can be in the know, both companies that I know of selling the ported TB have both had good reviews, so one negative experience shouldn't matter, but lets potential buyers be aware. This is what the forums is about.

I'm just curious what the issue is, as I'm on the fence about getting one. Going to do the CAI first, then maybe the TB.
Do you have pictures of the one that is causing the issues? |
