i have an SS with NPP exhaust, but i feel like it's not loud enough haha. It sounds good rn but i want something angrier and louder. Has to be street legal too. Any recommendations?

Borla S Type /Thread
The S type will give you the best combination of increased volume and still have incredible tone to it. If you want even louder look at the ATAK. |

If I was to change out my NPP I would look at the Stainless works I really like the sound of the system I do need to hear it in person. I have had the chambered system on my 2001 Z/28 and loved it.

Given the fact I have 4 adjustments I'm totally satisfied with stock. Tour mode for regular use around town then go to sport mode of long distance highway.

The real question is how much money do you mind spending on an exhaust.

If you're proclaiming that money isn't an issue and you want something that is angrier and louder, I would suggest starting with the headers first. Go with a solid set of long tube headers, with cats, while keeping your stock NPP. See if that suits your needs.
If you still want it louder, then sure, go with a cat-back system. Complete your system, matching with whatever brand of header you have chosen initially and retain your NPP functionality. These aren't cheap cars, don't be cheap with your modifications, either.

Borla all day every day.
I have Borlas 2nd cat delete x pipe with the S type NPP rear. Best sounding exhaust I have ever heard. |

My suggestion is to research sound clips on youtube of all the different systems and make your choice. Everyone has a different opinion of what is loud and not so loud. |

+1 for Stainless Works. I have the catback paired with kooks headers. It is one of the deepest and loudest sounding systems you can get.
There is definitely a unique growl to it with a very aggressive sounding idle as well. I don't think you could go wrong with any of the systems suggested here. It's just a matter of preference on the type of tone. You are right, it's best to hear in person. Videos give you an idea but in person is where it's at. |

do you want the dual mode to be functional still? I was looking at the magnaflow cat back myself but they use 409 stainless where everyone else seems to be using 304. Its not a big deal to some but the magnaflow kit is so expensive for using inferior stainless. 409 will rust though because its a cheap product.
If the npp functionality isnt an issue I say Borla. They make good stuff. Only issue I have is im pretty sure their cat backs delete the secondary cats... I might be wrong someone else might know. But for me i cant do that for autoX reasons. Stainless works is also a very nice well built kit.
