No, just irrelevant.

We have here a lot of so called M3, M5 or even AMG C63 all with quad tip exhaust modified inside and outside mirrors steering wheel ......it's really hard to identify the fake.

I've seen quite a few fake M3s. Never seen a fake ZL1. Had one M3 with the M3 badge all over the freaking car lol. Painted the "m" tri-color on the side, and modified exhaust. Had all his windows tinted super dark even the windshield.

I had a friend who at the time bought a new mustang, think it was a 2014. I went with him to one of his car shows and they had their own club going on. It was cool, until we started walking around and he was showing me some of his clubs cars. A lot had the boss 302 intake, and facia. But I'd say 1/2 to 3/4 had all boss 302 badges and the big boss stickers on both sides. I didn't know much at the time about mustangs so I asked him, "these all boss 302's?!" No, they are clones, he told me. I remember thinking..."clones?" Wtf? These are fake boss'. Do what you want to your own car, but to me...why? Why would you make your car into a fake upgraded model? Not the intake and stuff, the badges. I'd love to have some parts off the zl1, just wouldn't put that badge on my car. Just my 2cents.

De-badge it fine. Re-badge it lower then your trim(wolf in a sheep suit) also acceptable. Up-badge it? For shame...

AHHH sounds like the good ol' West side of Cleveland lol. I see soooo many over here by the West side market while i'm at work. And If I don't see them I definitely hear the fart cans.

Sorry, but it is. Not denying that you didn't see what you saw. Would not be the first or last time that somebody swapped a badge. It's the cheapest upgrade you can make to a car.

Happens all the time with classics. Don't know how many fake SS cars alone are out there. Clones, "Tributes", replicas, etc. Far less looked down upon.

It's one thing to take an old Chevelle straight 6 and turn it into a proper SS with the correct parts and graphics, then document that you did that and be very clear that it's a clone or reproduction SS and not a real one.

It's another completely different thing to put ZL1 stickers on a V6 Camaro.

Exactly. It's not as if they are cranking out any more classic Chevelles. I think it's actually helping the car community by taking some of those unloved base cars to their full potential.

If you wanted to blow a lot of money, there are a few cars like the 67-69 Camaro for which you could build from scratch with brand new parts short of having a factory VIN plate. You can find the shell, power plant, and pretty much everything you need. Granted, it would be a $100,000+ car by the time you're done.

Fair enough. But does that go the same for someone, 25 years from now, who strips an LS down, swaps in a ZL1 drivetrain and then slaps some ZL1 badges on it?

I know what you're saying but unfortunately I honestly don't think there will be a market for these cars in 25 years. I have no crystal ball but it just seems like the day of the classics is coming to an end possibly with the death of the Baby Boomers.

Admittingly, I've never seen an SS with a ZL1 or Z/28 sticker.. seen bumpers, parts from a ZL1 but never the badge.

To each of their own but I would never put a ZL1 bumper/hood on my car. Nothing wrong with it, but I just can't do it.

Rockers, steering wheel, suspension, supercharger, etc is fine and considered and cosmetic to an extent. But I just can't put exterior components like bumpers, hoods, etc on my SS.
