*If You TOW - You Must Read This*
Work hard. Play hard. That's the old adage, isn't it?
We all worked really hard to get our Camaros. and when you finally got your Camaro. Well... That was probably one of the best days of your life and you did not look back. ![]() The best thing is, you probably have not lost your work ethic. It might be all speed and shine when it comes to the Camaro but the person behind the wheel is the same hard worker who put it all together and got the car of their dreams. ![]() Not very many people use their Camaro to tow, but that's what we are here to talk about: ![]() BUT You probably have a workhorse vehicle that does everything that your Camaro should not be doing. ...or maybe it should ![]() One of those things is towing cargo trailer, motorhome, etc. There are tons of vehicles that can tow, but there are not a lot of hitches that do anything other than just towing. But, if you are going to work hard and play hard then wouldn't you want to play hard for longer periods of time? You can do that if you get the right hitch that does more for you than just tow. "What else can a hitch do?" It can weigh the cargo for you. The tongue weight, at least. Pressure on the ball sends a reading to the built-in scale that measures tongue weight (lbs.) GMC guidelines for proper towing states tongue weight should be no less than 10 percent of gross trailer weight (GTW) and no more than 15 percent. For example, tongue weight for a 10,000 pound trailer should be no less than 1000lbs. and no more than 1500lbs. The Importance of Tongue Weight The Weigh Safe Drop Hitch effectively measures the tongue weight of your towing load, ensuring that your vehicle is balanced properly and is safe to tow. Injuries, fatalities, and loss of property are all preventable by ensuring proper tongue weight. ![]() You just load your equipment and let the scale do the work for you. You know exactly how much you have in your trailer and if it will be too much weight. It is literally that easy. Just load your cargo and look at the built-in scale. You know what else would be great? Getting this fancy hitch at 10% off. You can get the hitch and the deal here. http://www.trunkmonkeyparts.com/weighsafe Simply select which one will be right for your vehicle. You can even get the new 180-degree hitches that feature two different ball sizes instead of the single ball size. ![]() If you tow anything at any time then save time and make it easy for yourself. Use the promo code: WEIGHSAFE10 and spend more time playing than working hard. Also, there are other accessories such as extra balls, a dust cover, and a locking hitch pin and we will even make sure the keys match so you don't have two different sets of keys for one product. ![]() More info available here!! |

Camaro has a towing capacity of ZERO pounds. Vehicle is not intended nor designed to tow any trailer. That GM bike rack hitch is it.

I've been towing our 31' Prowler camper with our Camaro for a year now. No issues at all. Lol

...and here's how it looks in action. I use a Thule 2-bike platform carrier. Less bounce and sway than a hanging carrier. I had a Thule 4-bike hanging carrier that I used with other vehicles until I got the Camaro. Ironically, I had just come in the house from a long bike ride when I saw this thread.

People forget, towing is about a lot more than engine or even transmission capability. Suspension and the entire chsssis all contribute to a vehicle's ability to tow something.
No Camaro ever built was ever intended to tow anything or carry more than about a thousand pounds inside the car. That's it. |
