That seems counter intuitive. You would think a person would want the v4 mode on long highway trips to maximize gas mileage.

To each their own.

Or are you talking their other product that keeps it in v4 more often?

Range is exchanging my module, they didn't tell me the FW version, but it is obviously higher than my 7.7. I will report back once I get the new one.

AFM disabler. Going into 4 cylinder mode with AFM produces a lot of vibrations and shudders way too much, feels like you are driving over a bumpy road. I only notice it on the highway at higher speeds, around town I am fine with it...hence why I want to use it primarily on road trips, it helps tremendously for those annoyances.

Anyone using the Range device have any updates on this? Have new FW versions fixed issues with CEL's?

The new one that Range sent me seemed to work OK, I only used it a few times, I don't use it much and haven't used it in a while.

I haven't been using mine for a while. I don't want to mess with it giving me the CELs. Looking forward to what you find out.

Drove around for maybe 30 miles with it in today. No issues and it was awesome! Pretty weird to watch it and it never go V4. I drive nearly 500 miles a week going to work, so I'll update at the end of next week.

For anyone that has had a CEL using it, was it a big deal? Like, do you just shut the car off, unplug it and then turn it back on, and the CEL's go away? I assume it's just a communication error and it causes no harm?
