Over here in Orange County, CA, I haven't been challenged by many cars except cars that know they have a chance. There are a lot of GT350R's, Challenger's, Coyote's, Porsche's, Lexus RCF's, higher end infinitis/bmws/mercedes, etc around here. They are usually the ones who want to go at it. Of course, we never race here because it's entirely stupid to race on the street, PLUS you couldn't anyway because of traffic.

I've never had a car like a 350z, s2k, older mustang, older camaro, etc try against me yet. Wish they would!

I'm noticing this too. When I had the BMW, it was mainly just trucks that would try to run me.

I've had the ZL1 less than a week and it's been Toyotas, Hyundais, Kias, you name it. I'll be doing my usual 15-20 over (sorry, but speed limits are set too low around here), and they'll either be following at my speed, or they'll gun it and go around if there's another lane.

I just play the gentle big dog and let 'em go with a smile on my face.

The other day though, I had a Cadillac SUV that was taking up both lanes not letting me pass. That was irritating.

This happens to me all the time here. The funniest one was a mini van that overtook me just after exiting the on ramp in Mexico. But it seems to consistently be Hyundai's and Kia's...about 25% of them give the head snap look over as they are passing me.

Also have noticed no one likes to yield to the right on the highway when you are moving faster than them. Complete opposite driving experience when I'm in my Suburban they move before I even get to 3 car lengths.

Our SS vs the general public

A 911 Turbo S pulled up next to me on the highway in Mexico. 60 roll. He walked me like I was standing still

Ive been getting challengers since tbe day I bought the car 4 years ago. I have had the odd Mustang or Dodge Challenger but I find most of those guys dont bother me. Im thinking itd because they have to deal with the same people I do Its the Civics.... .pickup trucks .. Brzs...Wrxs....and many others that get on my nerves. My wife didnt belive me till we were out one sat morning. In my rear view was a Subaru.Sure enough he starts reving to impress his girl and my wife look at me and says ...whats that? I laughed then she understood. The lateset fad seems to be be now the ricers wont pull up even ay a light. The hang back about a car length. Just before the light goes green they bounce off the limiter and then dump the clutch and take off. I do enjoy having a very loud car sometime.....it does quiet them down once in a while.

Usually the Mustangs and Challenger guys are fairly respectable, only ones that are not are the kids whose daddy bought them the car. Ricers, on the other hand, are the dummies that get on your nerves with their fart cans and wings for a 180hp car. They for whatever stupid reason, are the ones that like to show off, even though they have to least reason to show off. They obviously know nothing about cars and that a run of the mill SS, Mustang GT, or Challenger would blow the doors off of them. They're also the world's worst at Cars and Coffee and other car shows.

Don't get me started on this. Dropped by at my local car meet on last Wednesday. As I was pulling out and made it to the highway, a convoy of FRS/BRZ's were having a rice off by constantly accelerating and braking. I couldn't understand what they were trying to do asides from prematurely killing their brakes

You find that with any car really; it's not the car, it's the driver. The mature one tend to enjoy their cars at their own leisure on the streets or in competition on the track...or Mexico.

After reading the stories on this thread and another thread I finally had WRX try to "race" me the other day. The only thing problem was I wasn't aware of the race. We were getting onto a four lane highway from the top of a hill and he was behind me (there's a stop sign as it's a side street). I pulled out in a spirited fashion but nothing too crazy and next thing I knew he blew by me in the slow lane and nearly ran into another car then he quickly merged into the left lane ahead of me. He really showed me.

And is it just me, or do these cars sound 'ok' at best? My buddy has an FRS with a high quality/cost setup and as for what it's worth, doesn't make me cringe every time he uses the right pedal, but compared to almost any V8, or decent V6 (Camaro NPP, Porsche, etc) his car makes noise for the sake of making it. Most ricers, whether 4 or 6 cylinder, sound horrible and would be undriveable to me due to excessive drone and headaches sure to follow.

Also, in case anyone is unaware ; the aforementioned FRS is sssssslllllllooooowwwwww... They may handle great/be loved for tossability, but I bet the 6th gen 2.0T has higher performance numbers in every catergory.

Was at a pretty large car show meet last night. As i was leaving a few Mustangs about 3 surrounded me on the road. Two were looking over at me as my windows were down and gave me the thumbs up. I took that as they wanted to race but that wasn't the case after i punched it i was in the next realm regardless and i see they had some respect for the car after that was all. My area has a bunch of STI's and Evo's, not to mention Challengers and Chargers all over town. I dont press them to race me it just seems they all want to get up my A hole and see my lights leaving them hehehe

Meanwhile on the Porsche forums:

"Finally a camaro that can keep up.........not"

911 turbo s = $190k and 0-60 in 2.8 seconds, top speed 205.
