Competitive mode A8 mountain drives?
Does any one use competitive mode (double tap) on mountain drives? Today I tried it on an 80 mile mountain drive with lots of corners and it felt great....

Competition mode holds the revs higher for cornering exit basically.

I believe that competitive mode in the 6th gen works the same way it does on the 5th gen, in that it will give you full power at all times but still keeps the car going "mostly" straight. (you can get sideways with competitive mode its not magic) All of the other TC/PTM settings will limit power to some degree depending on things such as steering angle, throttle position, wheel slip etc. (It's basically the computer telling you "You can't do that Dave") Competitive mode assumes you know what you are doing and won't limit throttle even if you have a heavy steering angle and mash the throttle. (don't do that on a mountain road, or well anywhere) If the car does detect a spin it will use selective braking to help keep the car under control, but it will still get away from you if you are too aggressive.
If you are new to driving a powerful car like the 6th gen without the assistance of TC/PTM settings I highly encourage you to attend a driving school, or start autocrossing so you can learn to drive the car without the aid of these systems in a safe environment. I certainly don't know or wont assume your level of experience, but learning on the street is a really bad idea, be careful. And if you are anywhere near Charlotte NC I am going to invite you to our next Autocross event on the 17th and 18th where you can have fun with the nannies off, we even provide free instructors.
