Where to get my car aligned

Hi, i just installed upper and lower trailing arms, toe rods, cradle lockout kit, lowering springs , and poly motor mounts from bmr on my 17 1ss. Should i take it to the dealer for the alignment or go elsewhere? Im located in macomb Mi, just curious as to where people on here generally take there cars to get aligned after lowering srpings.

Rodgers Chevrolet. The service director is Gerry Mroz. Mod friendly and very high quality. Of course, Becky and Joe are huge Camaro5/6 Supporters.

Yes, ive been to there car show for the second time, great dealer. Problem is, its a hour and 15 mins away minimum, probably 2 with traffic and the drive is brutal as in roads to get there. I think im going to call the dealer i bought the car from but theres also a place called crane alignment by me and they specialize in alignments. So i might give them a call and see what they say, Id like them to clock the bushings also. Im thinking crane sounds like my best bet but im not sure. I just want it done right and with everything i did its not going to be a quick simple alignment i feel like.

Explain to the dealer / shop / manaage what you want done. If they agree and seem willing, get it done locally. If you are not comfortable with their response / reaction, make the drive.

You pretty much replaced almost all of the rubber bushings. Clocking the bushings probably doesn't matter anymore. The only reason you clock rubber bushings is because they are attached and don't spin freely. Your bmr bushings spin freely.

A lot of people from 3 Balls Racing have suggested Kenny's Automotive in Walled Lake. Not sure if that cuts your drive down much, though. I've also worked with Becky at Rogers Chevy a little bit. If their service department is as customer focused as she is, then it's definitely worth the drive if you can get it aligned enough on your own to drive there without destroying your tires

Sunsnare is also correct that clocking doesn't matter for the type of bushings you put in. Rubber bushings partially act as torsional springs and would need to be clocked correctly to avoid poor ride or premature failure, but the poly ones that are free-spinning don't require anything special.

Sears if they have the Hunter alignment machine. I get all my alignments done there. Never an issue. Granted my local Sears has an experienced tech that can dial in any settings I give him. The good thing is that you will get a before and after and can see if it was done to your liking. No need to over spend at a dealer IMO.

I got my 1LE from Becky as well. Lowered mine with the Phastek springs and am seriously in need of alignment steering wheel is about 1/4" off center most of the time. Also looking for a shop. Would you guys just trust a Firestone/Belle tire for alignment? I'd go to Rodgers as well in a heartbeat but so far away from my beaten path. Made the trip for the purchase but too hard to get that way for occasional service.

One trip off the beaten path is better than six trips near by to get it right.

I should have bought a ZL1
