Agreed value means what you and Grundy Agree to is what you will get in the event of a total loss, vs. Market Value from normal car insurance
Do you have an annual mileage restriction under Grundy?

Slightly less than my 2017 Honda Ridgeline. True story. The truck is black too - so it's not because of the color. I only have $100 deductible though, so it's $4--something /6mos. I should raise it for that car and save a few bucks.

Nope only 2 restrictions are you must have a daily driver and you cannot use it to go run errands like the grocery store or the mall stuff like that but no mileage restrictions.

I've not dealt with Grundy, but I had my 89 Turbo TA with Hagerty for several years, then when I called them about insurance for a new Vette they said they didn't cover "new" cars anymore and that the car had to be a certain number of years old to be eligible for collector insurance. He did say that the company goes back and forth on this rule. Which is confusing as hell because when I mentioned earlier in the year that if I was getting a new vette or camaro I would call him, he said "gimme a call, we insure new cars too" Insurance is such a BS headache.

Grundy insures all types stock, modifies, custom, etc...

They insured my 2000 Camaro, 2001 Z28, 2010 2LT/RS, and now my 17 SS vert.

I did get a quote from Hagerty on the ZL1 because we have a couple of other cars with them that only cost around $250 per year - so I was hopeful that we could get a great rate with them - but they quoted over $2,400 per year for the ZL1, so apparently they didn't really want to cover it! We ended up adding it to our regular policy, but it is still pretty high for us at about $800 for 6 months.

It's so sad to see how the insurance market can nickel and dime you. At $800/6 mo that's not bad. I'm thinking I need to look around a bit more.

We can all throw out different prices left and right, but the car we are driving is only one part of many in the insurance equation. Your age, your driving history, what you do for a living, where you live, where you drive, how many miles you drive a year (both verbally and historically), do you drink, do you smoke, how many in your household,....etc....etc....once they input your data into their computers for your quote...they know more about you than you think...and everything factors in...

...you may have a 20 year clean driving record, but how about your spouse who may use the car "occasionally", do they have the same clean record? or how about your kids (if you have any) when they "borrow" the car (lol)....the only thing any of us can do is to shop around, if every insurance company gives you a high quote, then unfortunately there is a reason for that...and it's not just the car

I think we are all in for a shock as insurance companies push rates up. It's been widely publicized that rates will rise significantly due to lower profits for insurance companies. Allstate stopped writing new auto policies altogether in my state.

Used to pay about $900/yr, (30s, perfect record and credit).
However, my wife has had a stint of accidents/tickets (4 accidents and 1 ticket), which really shot our rates up right around the time I got my Z. So it's around $1,500/yr now.
