I have some slight noise at idle--sounds like things moving around. When driving, I don't hear it. My shop said that it was normal and had me listen when I picked it up. They are a Whipple Authorized Dealer, so I trust what they say. If I have any issues, I'll make a post.

The car has been a beast to drive--so fast!

Whipple wants a recording, I told them just call, you can hear it. I'm going to do a vid later, after I CK things out. Your saying slight, other saying no noise. I don't know, I might just be gun shy after Rob's failure.

Mine was easy....

.........tic tic tick tick Tick TIck TICk TICK TICK!!!!

Probably the same thing I would not hit it hard if it is the bearing it sounds very possible this is what happened to me like we spoke last night.

Something like a failed bearing leads to the slightest misalignment and then you have a "lathe" running over your Engine block as the twin screws shave the bores and use your engine's intake as an exhaust so that you don't have aluminum chips all over your garage.

I really hope they find something and don't come after me for thousands to fix it. That will be a major disappointment.

I know that we were like two surgeons putting this thing on the engine, one watching the other get all the bolts and then another pass as instructed.

The thought of actually bolting the lid with something lying inside is .... "Inconceivable..!!!"

Good Luck Brett.

Mine has the ticking. It is loud enough you can just hear it in the cab with the windows up. I attribute that to the injectors and removal of the sound deadening foam. There is no noise at the supercharger snout. Good luck man.

Being around engines all my life, I have always been able to figure were a noise is coming from and what it is. With that....Whipple sent me a vid and there it is, "A Rattle" (Mine is worse then the clip) Maybe more noticeable cause its actual. So I asked them "What is causing that?" Waiting on answer, so I'll move forward. As long as its ready for tune/dyno June 12th.

Maybe you younger guys running the Whipples don't hear it. They say when you loss senses, the others get better. So since I lost most of the others, I hear real F-ing good....LOL

Brett, I just put my camera close to the snout so you can compare my noises to yours.

Longer version. I don't hear any rattles but maybe the engine masks them.

LOL, NO, your's don't make noise. Whipple says its gear lash. We'll see what it will take to fix. Larger gear? (Like Harley twin cam pinions) I'll make a vid of mine. It's noise..almost embarrassing.

Just noticed, by-pass actuator is open at idle. I don't think mine moved. So, I re-set it, nothing wrong with it, vacuum line open. We'll see tomorrow.

Longshot but could your bypass valve be clacking and making noise if the actuator isn't holding it?

I don't believe so, last run time I didn't see it moving at all. Other thing Whipple stated was coupler. I wish I had more time to work on it. Been down a month now.

You have driven it in a month because of the noise. It sounds like many of you have this problem. Hope you get it figured out

No Sir, not because of the noise, Just too much on my plate. I'm going to try to button it up this weekend. I'm working with Whipple to resolve the noise issue.
With luck I'll get the headers on this coming week. I've only missed a couple days of driving it, weather has sucked here.

Well here is my video I took while daughter made her whine before first drive and then failure...

Sounded great to me.... I highly doubt we did anything wrong. If we did I would have heard it right here. .

https://youtu.be/NOYupyT4qPU

I personally think this is the best whine sample offered yet...nobody has really rev the engine too good in any vids really.
