XPEL STEALTH!?!

Has anyone thought about using Xpel's Stealth film for the satin pieces on the 1LE?!? I have PPF on all the other important bits but not the satin pieces because it would give them a glossy look. But I just discovered this "Stealth" stuff from Xpel and am really considering it for the ZL1 rockers/side skirts that I just installed because I know they will get destroyed by rock chips over time!

Thoughts anyone?!?

I would just wrap them in a similar satin black. I bet the wrap is probably cheaper than xpel.

It still will give the satin parts a different tone. My installer showed me the stuff, while better, it wasn't good enough IMO...

I just passed on getting the splitter done as it can be removed and resprayed pretty easily if damaged. The difference in color tone wasn't working for me.

The stealth is a clear film. Does not change the paint color. Under every black wrapped piece is a painted body panel.

Yea based off what Xpel's site says it shouldn't change the finish of the satin pieces. But The only thing on the 1LE that is wrapped is the hood, all the other black pieces are painted satin black, and I added ZL1 side skirts painted satin black as well, those are what I'm thinking about wrapping in the Xpel Stealth.

Cheaper but, it won't offer the same level of protection.

Stealth is for use over matte paint. My understanding is that it will change the look of the paint color from gloss to matte.

I share the OPs concern regarding what to use with the satin finish which is between gloss and matte.

The film on my splitter and mirrors is "satin". I like the way it knocks down the shine on those surfaces, making them more like the hood.

I'll grab a picture of my mirror to show the difference.

This shot shows the film vs stock finish best.

Suntek. The red painted surfaces were done in PPF C, and the "matte" areas were done in PPF M "Paint Protection Matte"

As I said, it does change the look of the satin...just not as much as the regular film. I have seen it in person...

If you are picky like me, you won't want it as all your satin pieces won't match.

Got the same, splitter and mirrors with SunTek ULTRA. They also had the satin finish and same 10 yr. "Limited Waranty"

I got XPEL Ultimate on my front bumper. Check out the pic from my installer testing material on my splitter, yellow circle is the normal xpel ultimate, pink is the stealth. Personally I just didn't get anything and said when it needed it I would just wrap all the black stuff in a satin vinyl. My hood needs to be redone so I will do it all at once.
