Same thing happens with my cam'd GTO. Most people around here just think it's loud lol. I make 447rwhp at 6300rpm and 419rwtq at 3600rpm. Many are left just wondering wtf was that. People who don't give recognition to the 6th gen SS have no sense automotive wise. I've driven an A8 and even from a rolling start it is no joke. It will make my GTO sweat until 75+ mph where I'll start pulling ahead. That being said, a 1le is coming next year for me.

I'm not entirely sure, if even given a head start, if that car could have held off my stock 2016 (A8). It was not slow by any means but, it can't turn, stop or accelerate as well as this car can in stock trim.

Even when reviewers do a piece on these cars, everyone seems so surprised. When I get into conversations with people about these cars, they're quick to bring up comparisons ranging from a BRZ all the way to Ferrari's and Lamborghini's. While I submit that our cars aren't exactly competition for exotics in all cases, I do submit that they will require that the vast majority of cars bring their "A" game in order to fend us off or even worse, avoid humiliation.
I respect the Gen6 camaro's but, do you guys ever drive them during the day?? I have tried to find one on the hwys where I live to run with with no luck.

For the money, these cars are an incredibly performance bargain that people just don't quite appreciate outside of our circle, just yet.
I got
a real bargain on my GT and enjoy all hot rods, even Camaros.

LOL. That's a good looking little sports car that needs another 100hp or more. They can be found pretty cheap so a lot of these young kids are buying them and thinking that they're soooo fast, they've never driven a FAST car.

Edelbrock stated on one of the car shows that their number one sales of superchargers was for the these cars by a wide margin. Looking for that extra 100 hp.

To be fair, I've owned four Mustangs. A 94, 98, 03 and a 12. I will always have a soft spot for them and I almost got one this time, too. I could have picked up a performance package GT for substantially less than my Camaro but, it just didn't have what I wanted in the end.

A bit off topic...I love loud exhausts but would rather drive a quiet exhaust be wise I can get on it a lot more often.

I've not had mine very long and I don't street race either, but I often get regular cars who for some reason want to drive like their car is fast around me. I'll be driving down the highway and go to pass someone and they'll speed up, then if I still pass them they drive like they're triggered or something. I'm not sure what it is really.

I do work with a guy that has a 2016 Mustang GT and he asks when we're going to run them. He's the kind of guy who keeps all cars bone stock and he rarely drives it, I joke with him all the time about why he's afraid to drive it, probably scared of my SS. It's not bad looking but the new style Mustangs have a very Euro look to them. Either way, while the 5.0 is no joke, I'm not exactly afraid of it either.

But that said, yesterday I did have a guy give me the thumbs up at a stoplight and was talking about how nice my car was, he did ask if my SS was an "RS" though.... then later on another guy in an late '90's impala SS was just staring at my car, then looking back after he already drove by.

I have the same experience on the highway. The other day I was driving 10 over the speed limit (as everyone else does on that highway) and I pass this Honda Pilot. Dude floors it to pass me again and even drives onto the entry ramp to pass another car and then continues to speed off.

This kind of thing happens at least 3 times a week.

I go the speed limit on the highway and it's always some Wrangler asshole with excessively big tires zooming by at 10+ mph.

Seems commonplace then, just today I had some Asian kid in an older red Mitsubishi 3000GT riding up my ass, I swear this car just incites people (mainly younger guys) to drive like maniacs. It's hard enough with the torquey LT1 to stay reasonably around the speed limit, I just never thought it could cause others to drive fast too! A few days ago it was some kid in what looked like a Ford focus, they fly up behind me and just ride my ass...of course a quick blurp of the throttle gets them second guessing things. There's a lot of big trucks around here too but they never do anything, it's always younger guys in their tuners, or some lady driving her soccer van 25 over the speed limit hahaa.

Hey now watch the Asian comments! I just did ancestry.com and found out that I'm 4% West Asian.

Sorry! I couldn't help myself. My wife purchased the kit for me for Christmas and I finally did it. Not sure what her motive was though.
