Took sound tube out and I can't tell a difference
I may be hearing more intake noise with the roto-fab that offsets the sound tube effect, but that is just an assumption. I have no idea what I've lost or gained by taking this strange thing out of the engine bay.
I still can't understand what the hell this contraption does. It has no electrical connection to operate within certain go pedal inputs via throttle input. Perhaps there's a passive valve that opens with enough vacuum. I don't know. Heard some say it also sucks air out of the cabin, but that sounds ridiculous when there's no electrical connection. How could it know when to do this without any input? This is a passive contraption. A creature in our engines. What the hell is this thing??? |

No hookups to the negative pressure system, so it can't work via vacuum. I think it's just a passive sound generator. I still have mine, but my NPP exhaust is what I hear.

I really don't understand why GM spent the time and money on this goofy little contraption. I'm not sure I hear anything worth hearing from it. Seems worthless to me. Intake noise, injector noise, valve train noise, tire noise, wind noise - that's all those things are - unwanted noise in the cabin. The NPP exhaust sounds are music.

I notice a BIG difference in Sound.
My car is sooo much quieter inside the car. I used to leave it in third to acclerate and when I let off the gas it popped and burbled. t does not do that anymore....or I can't hear it. It use to be so easy to hear the Revs. I shift by where the revs are at...the audible sounds from the engine tells you that your revs are high - time too shift. I cannot hear that now - it is sooo muted. Everything inside the cabin is muted now. I had to turn the radio off to hear the engine reving . Only one day with the sound tube gone. It is very weird - totally different

My hearing is not great but when I removed the sound tube, I couldn't tell a difference either. After few days, I added the Rotofab and I could hear that slight intake sound change.

I've started to notice more noise with the windows down with the roto-fab and sound tube delete, less sound with windows up. It's an enhancement to the engine noise under load that I'm chaulking off to the stock airbox being gone and now there's a straight path for any throttle noise to come out.

Lol maybe this was their fix for the window fogging issue. This didn't work so they went "we spent too much money on this. Call it a sound tube and ignore the bad vent seals"

I just test drove a V6 for fun yesterday. Without NPP, I could tell that the sound tube was working. I wonder if my NPP drowns out the sound tube engine noise?
