Thanks man.

Looking forward to complete write-up. Looks like I need to source an HVAC module I suppose. Should be fairly easy to get even if have to go new from GM Parts Guy...might even try junkyard that my 2SS controls come from...

Assume donor car was a head-on or rear-ender total that interior parts look pristine...

Assume this is the HVAC module needed. I also reached out to salvage yard to see if they could extract from junker...

Worst case looks like about $90 new.

That's it. I found one used for $25.

I'm starting to organize things now for write up. I still have one way I'd like to test as soon as I get the terminals. Plus wire in the driver's side at the same time.
Be out of town and away from car for the next two weeks, so can't test, but should give me some time to work on the write up.

My 2SS HVAC bezel and controls showed up yesterday from the Topeka junkyard. Haven't even had a chance to open the box yet tho.

Thinking this out...with the 2SS HVAC module and with 2SS HVAC controls, the HVAC blower speed will now be controlled by the fan up down switch between the vents (as well as auto when auto control is engaged), right?

Assume that the right vent ring will be dead as dual climate is not active, and it doesn't run the fan in the 2SS system, but numbers in RH passenger temp display will (artificially) show passenger set point temperature in degrees?

Might be possible to put a small swatch of black electrical tape over the display (out of obvious site slid behind the plexiglass) so no numbers show in the RH display?

To others out there not familiar with adding these wiring connectors to a harness, buy extras. Took me 4 or 5 shots a piece to do these last time I used them. Small and fiddly and we do not have the special jig/crimping tool and connector insertion tool that would probably make them go easier....

Leave the wire long and make the term with the wire slid thru and past the connector (with the PTM lock removed to permit this reverse assembly) and "pull" the connector back into the harness plug. Couldn't "push" mine in after crimping and could only "pull" them in backwards per say...

Related post I made on making up these little pin connectors (for custom illuminated door sill harness)...

Wonder if a code will be thrown due to the missing dual zone HVAC components using the 2SS HVAC module?

Great advise. Mind if I copy some of that to include in the write up?
I haven't played with them either and used some that were close but did have connection issue. There is a few others I didn't post and one I just can't seem to find. My should arrive Tuesday. I leave for OK Sunday. 😠

Feel free to use in write-up. It would be great if GM actually supplied the term and a short length of wire and so you could butt splice the wire vs. have to jack with the crimping on the tiny term itself, but I assume these are the same loose terms like I dealt with on the sill connectors...

PS - just checked out my 2SS HVAC controls. Other than needing a blast of air to blow the dust out of the vents it looks pristine with no broken clip tabs nor retainer ears.

I'm trying to test new idea before airport.

The right temp control controls the temp. Left will be dead. With 2ss hvac mod I suspect sync may work and solve this ( want I'm doing now). Fan with 2ss hvac mod is controlled by 2ss fan switch. With 1ss hvac mod the control panel must be modified or the AC stays on auto and can only control the fan speed through the radio. Modding the CB isn't fun. The display wndow is easy to change. Just disasimble the seat switches.
Using the 1ss hvac will require modding the CB, swapping a few wires and adding 1. With the 2ss controls and 2ss hvac mod, these steps should be eliminated. Which will be huge for those not wanting to mod the controls.
I believe I may also run into a time out mode with the BCM. This will set me back a little. I will find out in a few hours.

Any updates to the procedure posting?

I sure didn't even notice the little fan icon bar display until you mentioned it above...always just thought it was a backlit stencil...
