Couple of mistakes you made : 1) dealing with a sales person 2) dealing with a sales woman.

Deal with a manager, too much turnover with sales people and most don't know enough and few have authority to make decisions. Also not clear, you owe $3k, of course it's part of the deal, it doesn't disappear.

Sorry I was on that side years ago, you can't have your cake and eat it too. You either trade in and work your best deal somewhere OR try to sell on your own and deal with yahoo's and no-shows.

Those fancy dealerships don't get built on them losing money. Good luck but for the record, I hate them too, but I know enough and comfortable with the numbers including leasing to be able to deal with them.

Good info....I've been doing this on my last 3 cars, and did not know the dealership at all ....get your fininacing together, walk in and bypass every sales guy and find the gen sales manager. Explain you are serious about buying and if everything is good, you'll commit today. (This must be the truth).Ask him to ASSIGN you a salesperson that has been there for a couple years.....many of the problems written here over the years come from a dealer with a new/bad sales guy that gives you bad info.

I personally have no prob with sales women, competentcy is gender blind.

Actually females are often better at sales than males. All personal capability aside since I don't want to make generalizations females are better at establishing relationships, listening and responding to customers needs ,sort of the motherly instinct. Males tend to be more assertive and demonstrate prowess. The see the sale as a challenge to conquer.

Nevertheless I'm on board with you many sales people lack character and integrity, personal capability and follow up skills. I'm done buying cars. I'll die now. Lol

Did you notice how many on your link are way over MSRP? Its still very much a sellers market on this car.

In the 3 days after I put down a 1K deposit just to drive one, 4 other deposits were put down on the same car, which I verified through another source. That type of demand does not give you much room to negotiate. Most are sold before they hit the ground around here. That said, you can still get a good deal if you shop around.

Well using the link I got hooked up with a dealer that has a ZL1 with everything I want except it has a sun roof, but Im done with trying to find one without it at this point. they want 68k which I just got approved for over MSRP so now i can walk in with some buying power. Im trying to walk out of there paying 55k +plus tags and title with a 2011 Mustang GT as a trade in for 9k.
Math
68k- 4k incentives -9k trade in = 55k and some change
Is this realistic? Ill found out Sat morning after a 3.5 hour drive to the dealer.

That's very realistic as long as you get the trade number. I made a similar deal this weekend. ZL1 was $67,330, got supplier price and a few incentives to arrive at $63,805. Had about $8k positive equity on my trade. Got out the door a little over $56,400. Red Hot, a10, black stripe, floor mats, car cover, nav, and most importantly for me, NO SUNROOF!

Exactly. I somewhat shun female salespeople too, but have actually bought my last 2 cars from females. One being my Hellcat and the other being the ZL1. They were both excellent. Not so much in their knowledge of the cars, but willingness to get me a deal.

I have a question. How does a person get supplier pricing?

Your employer has to be part of the program. You sign up through the supplier website and get a code.

Or

You find someone who has already used a code and can share one with you.
