I like the paddles personally.

Me too...all I can figure is the 1LE name historically = Manual??

Seems that car in the auto would be seller?? I'm sure GM marketing has their reasons.

Man, did I struggle with the trans decision, but really happy I chose the A10...it continues to impress. I've had to eat a lot of crow (not too bad w/ lots of ketchup) as I've always been that guy to say manual was the way to go. I'm a shifting fool using the gear & hardly ever use the paddles.

The A10 is no doubt the faster car. I did think about getting one for a bit, then the "Manual Gods" starting frowning and I felt guilty.

I think it's funny that the general consensus is that the a10 is faster yet the leader atop the stock zl1 board as of now is an m6.....

I am sure when the car stops, she gets out of the car and stands like that to ensure all pedestrians are safe. Good option. I think I will get that option on the next ZL1.

Hell, I don't know how he does it...I can't keep the tires on the ground and too stubborn and/or can't make the time to go out & learn the launch stuff. I'm not really into the 1/4 vs the road course, but appreciate both.

The car is awesome...wish I could drive a manual & yet to even see another new ZL1 in town yet.

The m6's are hard as shit to launch for sure. My m6 c6 was a breeze compared to this one lol. Too much and it blows the tire and too little and it bogs down bad. Even if you can get it almost perfect, the car still falls down and spins some. It falls down right as the clutch is completely disengaged no matter what setting you out the car in, then starts to spin some. An a10 is definitely going to sit at the top spot once more get down the strip.

I heard someone who's into racing has an a10 near me, so I'm working on getting a little run set up so we can see how the two fare head to head.

Here's a good video where Al explains the history behind 1LE. 1:00 - 3:00 mark.
Doesn't go into auto v manual but you can definitely get the idea behind the 1LE RPO.

We have almost zero data on this right now so nothing to compare yet. Trap time is probably the best indicator until folks (both auto and manual) figure out the launch.

I know, I was just stirring the pot a little bc the Mrs. is hogging the tv and I don't feel like watching "13 Reasons Why" or getting out of the recliner lol. But all joking aside, i have no doubt that an a10 will occupy the first few spots once more get down the track. I think the invasiveness of tq management and stock tire limitations along with the tweaks to the zl1's m6 will keep the two close though in stock form though.

Btw, which video? I didn't see once posted.

Well it is probably because it is mainly for purists or track loyalists or those who'll scream "it's a track car and track cars should only be manuals and blah blah blah"...lol!! Seriously tho, if they offered it with the A10 and no M6, then ERs all over the country would be flooded with Camaro guys with heart attacks and strokes, haha!! But offer it with a M6 and no A10 and most of us auto guys wouldn't really care much. Same with a sunroof. 1LE doesn't have that option (from what I know) but for me, I would take a sunroof any day over the 1LE option without a second thought. Oh, I can go X time around a road course? Well boo hoo. But I can open that roof on a Summer night.

Or it could be the cost. Add in the 1LE option AND the extra money for the A10 AND the extra money for a sunroof and it might be too much money and/or they might not sell enough to make it worthwhile. Since these guys who want one are gonna say "I bought it for the track, I'm not paying extra for the auto and sunroof and blah blah blah because at that price I might as well get a Z06 yada yada".

Give it time. The car is still new. There are very few broken in or willing to go to the track before break in...and a lot of guys out there aren't on this forum. It'll be a good while before there are enough out there to get some good representations of which is better at what.

I think initially you'll see more M6 cars doing really good before us A10 guys get out there. I don't plan to do too much with my ZL1. When I go to the track I don't do the tire pressure thing, I don't heat up my tires, I don't launch at any specific RPM, I just basically line up and take off and go from there. Most of the guys who are serious about it are probably gonna be those with the M6. But eventually more and more A10s will show up and be serious and then we'll see how they all compare. They're both very capable so we should see some good competition.

Keep us posted Kyle...I don't get all wrapped up in the whole M vs A deal anyway & think those who spew the serious insulting banter regardless of which side is simply asinine. It's almost like they wish it was only available in their perceived superior flavor & to even consider the counter is blasphemy?? Wish I had one of each!!

I don't get it & wish I knew where the enthusiast & appreciation went when I see such nonsense...I've literally seen posts here where they insinuate F1 drivers (The epiphany of driving) aren't part of the winning equation & the car will be driven remote at some point. Beyond stupid.

Man, I cannot WAIT till the 18 1LE guys start posting up...really excited!!

Will do, it's all in good fun at the end of it all. I've had two a8's (15 c7 and 16 ss) and loved them both. When I wanted more driving engagement I used the paddles and that was my only issue with the a8 was the delay. It appears that the a10 doesn't have that issue, I just didn't want to order one, wait a month or more, and pay msrp for the auto vs buying an m6 that day, get 5-6k in rebates making it around 8k cheaper than an auto overall, and driving it home that night. Plus, I did miss shifting my own gears too....
