Yep. Roof lines look so much better without the sunroof. My 16 ss had a sunroof and opening it up wasn't worth it to me.
Now if they had curved the glass to match the coupe's roof lines....hell yes!

I had a '16 SS with a sunroof and I now have a '17 ZL1 without the sunroof. I much prefer not having a sunroof in this car. There's more headroom, the roof line looks better, and I don't have to mess with the sunroof shade sliding backwards under hard acceleration.

Had to have a sunroof in my last car cause it was one of those panoramic jobbies. Looked neat cause the whole roof was glass. Figured I'd use it constantly. I only used it when I felt guilty about spending all the money for it and not using it.
Would not get one again I don't think. |

I would *prefer* to find one without a sunroof simply due to the extra height of not having one. With that being said, every time I am in the wifeys Ford Flex I find myself opening the sunroof up...
![]() I guess my problem is that I am 6'1" with a long torso and I would like to take it on a track at some point. I have sat in a ZL1 with and without a sunroof and wearing a helmet in one with a sunroof would be difficult. Maybe not impossible, but the helmet WOULD hit the roof even with seat lowered and leaned back. Decisions, decisions... I guess if I found a killer deal on one with a sunroof I would have a hard time saying no just because it had one. |

Didn't get one bc of my height and helmet fears, but i really enjoy how this car looks with the sunroof fully opened. If i was shorter and lived in southern cali, i would have picked up one.

Imust be the only one who enjoys having one. See, I enjoy driving at night. And having the night sky beaming down on me is just awesome. On Summer nights, opening that sunroof and cruising is amazing. Even in the daytime with the roof closed, I keep the shade open as I find the glass is dark enough that I'm not feeling cooked in the car. In my Mustang I had to get a convertible because they do not have the sunroof option. But when it comes to any other vehicle, it is either sunroof or no deal. When the salesman first contacted me and told me they had a ZL1 coming in, I told him it had to have a sunroof and that was my main stipulation. Besides, I'm no racer and I don't plan to push this car to it's limit. Less structural stiffness doesn't matter to me.

Nothing to add here other than to say we opted not to get a sunroof because of the way it opens. Not a fan of the up and over the roof look.

Thanks a TON for the feedback everyone, some really insightful comments and things that I hadn't thought of. Based upon what I've heard I made a decision - don't want to disparage anyone's choice.
Suffice it to say I feel a whole lot more comfortable with making the decision that I am. Now, if I can just figure out to PDR or not to PDR. I have no plans to track the car but also don't want to miss out on a selling feature when, or IF, I ever decide to sell. |

Found this http://www.chevrolet.com/performance-data-recorder but I'm not 100% clear. Looks like you have to turn it on. Does it "over right" data once the card is full? |

I recommend going down to the dealer and sitting in a Camaro with a sunroof, and one without. I normally prefer a sunroof, but I did not like it in this car (not an option on a 1LE anyways
).

I didn't want a sunroof (I liked the roof lines of the Camaro without it)... but mine had one and I'm glad that I have it now.
I never open in day time (why would I want the sun shining on my head, or light up the interior of my car?) .. but at night it is awesome. seeing the stars, etc. it works very well, minimal noise and wind. |
