Getting side emblem off

I bought the new redline "camaro" side emblems and went to the dealership to get them put on and was told they can't because the old emblems will pull paint off. Anyone have any advice?

Your dealer is an idiot, they come off fine with googone and floss/fishing line. Search "debadge" here.

Thanks! Seems like I could handle that myself pretty easily. So the next question, how do you get a new emblem to stick on

You'll see when you get the new badge.

The sticky tape should already be on the badge covered by a protective paper that you peel off. Before you install - clean the area thoroughly finishing the job with a good wiping of rubbing alcohol. Measure where you want the emblem and then peel and stick. I apply a little heat using hair dryer to the metal before sticking an emblem on just to heat up the metal a little and then some heat to the installed emblem with some finger pressure to make sure its making good contact.

You should have gotten the fender template that came with them (if they are the GM ones). I have mine still in the box with the template (clear template) and install instructions. Shoot me a PM with your email I can take photos of the install instructions for you.

But as others have said your dealership is an idiot Good gone and fishing line let the goo gone soak in.

I ordered the black CAMARO emblems for mine with the car and they swapped them out for me before I picked it up.

I cant believe some of the idiotic stuff dealers tell people. Took me maybe 30 minutes total to remove my side badges and clean the paint back up.
