Weird reaction after roto-fab install - fans went bezerk

The engine was dead cold after install. Initial start up and the fan blew so hard it was whining. Could hear it in the cabin. I drove for a bit and it didn't stop so I shut her down, restarted, and it didn't come back on. I didn't disconnect the battery, but only thing I can think of was perhaps disconnecting the MAF sensor and this caused a reaction?

Also took out the sound tube and I can't tell a damn difference so far.

Also, 4,400 miles and the TB was bone dry. I have an Elite e-2X on the way. Wondering now if I really need it.

Same thing happened to me... freaked me out. But, exactly same thing, shut it off and when restarted it went away. Bizarre but, definitely freaks you out.

Instructions state that you should disconnect the battery before installation. I didn't disconnect the battery either and the same thing happened to me. I'm assuming not disconnecting the battery must've messed something up. Regardless, I turned my car off and the fan still went crazy so I disconnected my battery and restarted my car and haven't had a problem with it since. And I think the sound tube delete is more of an engine clean up if anything. Looks a lot better without that tube. Correct me if I'm wrong but I also think the sound tube delete is mainly for a car with sound mods like headers, upgraded exhaust, etc. You'll want a quieter cabin so you can hear your sound mods more authentically

That's my thinking on the tube, don't care for piping in noise. Have exhaust coming. I also wanted it out to try to use the space up front for a catch can.

I'm going to try to place it left of the throttle body, use the threads that hold the sound tube valve or whatever it is.

I did the battery disconnect, none of that happened to me. my guess is that, it had to do with the soft reset via battery disconnect.

I did the battery disconnect and never had any fan issues after the install. Did any of you with fan issues happen to unplug the MAF and not disconnect the battery?

It is real funny about that MAF being unplugged. If you could do the swap without unplugging it you would probably be fine.

Or just follow the instructions that tell you to disconnect the negative battery terminal before starting.
