Gave him a shout when I arrived, he was busy with someone and I had to wait about 10 minutes but once he was done he came up to me with the assistant manager and threw the keys at me. No license, no papers, told me to give er a run. Unfortunately my brother couldn't ride along with me since we all know no body can fit in the back but he'll get his chance once I purchase. I had the chance to play around with the metallic blue 2SS with MRC and NPP. The assistant manager rode along with me and gave me a quick intro to starting her up and playing around with the settings. Then off we go

One things for sure is that they weren't kidding at all with the visibility. I was going on a slow windy downhill driveway off the dealership and I could hardly tell where I was going. And the buddy in the passenger seat was sitting a little too forward for my liking. I probably should have spent more time adjusting the seat and finding the sweet spot but I got a little too excited when I turned her on
What I loved about it is that if you just lightly accelerate it trots around fairly quietly. But just digging in even a quarter to half way into the pedal and that thing roars and throws everything back. Thank god for the HUD because I could easily see myself getting out of hand with the speed limit. All in all it would without a doubt take some time to get use to it but I think I'll be sold

When the ride was over the guy showed me some of their pricing/financing options I had and to give it a thought when I have a chance too. He told me about a student/graduate discount which was nice of him. Before I left he's like don't worry anymore we'll take good care of you here.

Now it's just a matter of withdrawing my down payment and picking the one I want I can't wait. Still undecided on the colors though. I'll have to check their inventory properly when I drop by next time.
Color and other appearance options are ALWAYS a matter of personal taste, but I'll toss a couple ideas at you.

If you like Nightfall Gray Metallic AND they have or can acquire a 50th Anniversary model, think about it. It will be a collectors item. Also comes with a "goodie kit" that is available, at this point, only to US buyers. I see you are in Vancouver, so you would not get the package, but I'm guessing if you pushed for it, you could get it. My car, a Fifty convertible, is exactly like the picture in my signature line.

If you are considering a 1LE, the Krypton Green color looks like it is a one year color. And it looks AWESOME. Again, an instant collectible

Just to address the original post, I agree with a number of the folks posting.... this was probably a combination of the first salesperson sizing you up and thinking that you were a tire-kicking joy-rider, not a buyer and not wanting to ask the asst manager if his car was available for test drives.

I have never had problems with getting test drives, but have friends who have gone to the same dealer, same salesperson that allowed me to test drive a vehicle and been refused. Thing is, they know me and know that when I decide I'm buying, I buy.

When I bought my Fifty, the salesperson was disappointed that I DIDN'T want a test drive. I think he just wanted to joy-ride and see how far I might push it. My car had been on the showroom floor for months, with 8 miles on it. I wanted to keep it that way. And I had driven a 2SS coupe for a few weeks when I switched company cars with a co-worker, so I knew all I needed to know. Hell, I taught the salesperson things about the features and settings.

With the new guy it got to the point where I was teaching him about the features and packages. He originally had the idea all the lane departure stuff included in the 2SS was actually an add-on and I had to politely tell him that it's a part of the 2SS model. He still didn't believe and thought there was a tech package of some sort. With the assistant manager I was rolling with HE knew his stuff for sure. First thing he did was set that bad boy on track mode, walked me through the buttons and functions as if I just bought it. If I have nothing better to do tomorrow I'm going to head back there again and see if there's anything worth pulling the trigger on in the inventory and perhaps go for another test drive. They did tell me to come back on saturday if I wanted another round without all the post work traffic.

I'm 18 and they let me test drive several SS's before I bought one. They just had to drive off the lot first, before I could drive due to liability issues.

I passed on all the ss inventory at my local Chevy dealership. They all had from 20 to 768 mile on them. I figured one of you guys had taken out each car for a work out. I ended up ordering a "fresh one"-ss. Had to wait 4 months. It came in with 4 miles on it. Plastic still on the seats which I pulled off myself. Wrote a check and drove it home. Kept it under 60 mph until it reached 1500 miles. The car is a screamer now. My strictly supervised while driving the ss teen age son calls it his Babe magnet.

Wait - did they add lane departure for the 2017 model?

I don't know why they wouldn't have a demonstrator model of each car including the Corvette.

They let the sales managers and higher ups at the dealer to abuse a "demo". And, don't forget all the "program" cars that get tossed on the dealer's used car lot at the end of the model year from GM.

When they won't let you test drive a car, they are "pre-qualifying" you in their minds.

I test drive mine. Zero issue. Had not decided to buy was
Just looking. Drove it. Loved it. Grabbed a 20pcr off deal and took it home.
Manual SS convertible.

Now - I was considering a Hellcat lease deal and they wouldn't let me drive that one. But I did take out a scat pack charger. I think those are 485hp these days.

It's really up to the dealer. If they believe you are a serious buyer they most likely will let you drive it. Because chances are pretty low of buying a car without a test drive.

Camaro does not have Lane Departure Warning. I assumed he meant Side Blind Zone Alert and kept moving.

That's exactly it. Whoever made the judgment made a grave mistake because they're going to be missing out on a fat commission. Funny enough the sales manager is currently abusing the one and only 2SS demo unit. I also have an acquaintance that's also a sales manager at Audi and he just drives demo cars around all the time acting like he's a hot shot.

That's the proper naming my bad. I get the blind spot monitor confused with that a lot.

Hopefully I can bring in a positive update this Wednesday as that's when I'm going back in to actually purchase a Camaro. Getting my withdrawal done today then heading there tomorrow right after work. Only concern left on my head is the color to choose

Whew - didnt need a reason to trade my 16 for a 17. I wish the Camaros had adaptive cruise control. When I heard lane departure, I thought maybe Chevy upped the 17s tech package and I missed it.
