BMWCCA Track Day Highlights

I thought I'd share some highlights from the track day this weekend. Lots of F80 M3/M4s. I managed to catch one at the end of the video that was prepped on Hoosiers. Hope you guys enjoy.

What wheels/tires are you running please? And which flares?

Good vid but nothing sounds sweeter than a V8 in full song. Also the constant FF gets old very quickly. Just my 2 cents. But congrats for passing everyone - nice driving!

Stock 1LE wheels with MPSS 305/30r20 all the way around. Also, I modified the OEM Z06 fender flares to fit.

I appreciate the FF comment. I'm trying some new things and wanted to try and capture the full chase down of the cars, without making the video 30 minutes long.

Appreciate your response. How do the 305s fit on 10F rims? That's a bit narrow eh? Ya I think showing 2-3 full laps and then splicing just the passes without the FF would have been super from a viewer's POV and got your point across. Just my 2 cents

Maybe pick two or three of your favorite passes - maybe the Corvette one in particular - and show the full chase from the moment that car appears in the distance, to the pass itself, plus a couple of corners following. Show at least a full lap at speed at least once.

Let me suggest not including any music in the background, at least not during the actual track driving part. If I'm watching a track day video I don't even want to be hearing my own favorite song ever, never mind anybody else's preference of the moment. Just the engine note and any tire noise so I can have a better sense of how hard the car is being driven and what the driver is doing to put it there. Let me sit there in your car in place of the camera and try to feel what was going on.

Must have been pretty good driving (these old eyes can't follow the FF fast enough to learn anything from it) . . . the 6th gen SS/1LE is not a car to underestimate lightly.

Surprisingly well. I had a 5mm spacer made and needed extended bolts but all in all, it can be done. I want to mention 305 on a 20" wheel is going to rub on the spring perch when the tire expands during a high-speed braking zone (ask me how I know). I'd say a square 305/30 setup is more realistic on a 19" wheel.

Agreed on an all accounts and thank you for the input! No more fast forwarding for sure.
