2017 Camaro 2SS Baseline dyno runs fresh from the dealership 101 miles
Might as well make the first post a good one. Picked up my 17' camaro today and since I conveniently have my shop located next to a dyno shop and I picked up the new car today I had no choice but to see what it's got completely stock untouched a couple hours after receiving the keys! Can't wait to start the bolt ons, e85 pulls coming soon once I put a kit together and will post results in stock trim.

Wow, that is a very generous dyno for sure. Dang near what the car is rated at from the factory at the wheels.

I'm actually more curious to see what it dynos after a few thousand miles stock vs. new stock to see if the motors free up a few ponies after they get broken in.

Thanks! And Yes totally forgot to put that in there it is a M6 I'm excited to see the gains moving forward. Track times to come this Wednesday if we don't get rained out here in NH.

I dont beleave it. these cars put down 390hp 400ftlbs stock

Well it looks like the dyno is connected directly to the hubs, less drive train loss through the tires?

Dyno results should never be gospel in my opinion, but if you can imagine the extra ponies every car would show on a typical dyno if you removed 30 pounds of wheel/tire weight (from each side) on the dyno....then this result likely wouldn't be far off, seeing as how this dyno hooks directly to the hubs.
The proof on this is in how a GT350R with the lighter wheels will dyno a bit higher than a regular GT350.

I have your twin in a 1SS. I bet $$$$ mine puts down 385-395 when I finally go. I'm at 2500 miles. As long as you just keep going there, you'll get the right info out of your mods.

The numbers are comparable to Dynojet numbers with how its setup to read everyone around this area compares numbers to dynojet (mostly mustang fans) and thats been tested back to back with multiple cars to calculate a dynojet figure. It is a land and sea hub dyno and its numbers were 395hp land and sea numbers.
As stated several times by a number of people across hundreds of dyno debates it is just a tool and the numbers are a good starting point for future mods to compare to and build off. These numbers will be backed up with track times and will actually be putting the car on another friends dynojet rollers to see how it compares(its nice to have friends with dynos) just out of curiosity. FYI the car was flowing 45lbs/min of air which roughly would equal 450hp then obviously figure drive train loss. All in all I am happy with the data and plan to build off of my numbers to know which parts gain what and constantly back up numbers at the track to have a more accurate sense of power the cars making. |
