Driver seat will not behave.

So,

I have the option selected that my seat slides back when I shut the car off for ease of exiting. When I get in and crank her up, the seat is supposed to go back to the last used preset position. The problem is, sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn't. WTF?! Anyone else have this issue?

Sorry, but it is kind of funny because the Vette's have the EXACT same problem!

In the Corvette if you pre select the seat to go as far to the rear as it can for exit it causes an issue because of the limiting switch. If you program the seat to go *nearly* as far back as it can then the seat works as designed.

I do not have my ZL1 yet so I have not tested for myself, but it is food for thought.... I am not sure if you even HAVE the option to program how far back the seat goes for exit on the Camaro, just know that you do on the Corvette.

The "return to" position is based on which key is used. Are you using the same key and incurring this issue?

it is either going to revert to position 1 or 2 setting when car is turned on. If you program1 and it doesn't work program 2 to the same spot. Worked for me

Exactly. Had this issue until I figured out I was programming position 1 but using key 2. Once I switched to key 1, all good. Also programmed posiition 2 to go all the way back for cleaning purposes cuz no one else drives my car.

What they said.... it goes to the saved positions for each fob.... set both fobs for the same spot or use the same fob.... mine works like a charm!

I use the same key every time and have the same issue.

Another thing that I found odd, which now that I'm hearing this may be an issue I'm not sure is normal, is that pushing the seat position button doesn't automatically go to the position. I have to hold the button down until the seat reaches the position.

I believe I saw a setting which determines if you want the seat to go to the exit position when you turn the car off, but I have that disabled just in case I have a little passenger in the back - I don't want them crushed when I turn the car off. Maybe that's related? Do you guys have that on or off (off by default).

If you have to push the seat preset postion button 1 or 2 then you could have the wrong fob. I had noticed that the fobs are not numbered 1 and 2 and is easy to get mixed up. When I was setting mine I had the wrong fob and every time I would get in it would want to push me into the steering wheel. I was like WTF. So I swapped the fobs, locked and unlocked the car so it knows which one you have then it was all good. It is the same in my wife's Caddy. But you do have to hold the button to go all the way to the preset position of 1 or 2. It is the same in my wife's Caddy also. Set everything to 1 and try both fobs. But make sure you lock and unlock the car with the fob so it recognizes which one you have. Then you will know for sure which is 1 and which is 2.

Thanks for the info...
I always use the same FOB and the car does it anyway. I will try setting both position save buttons to the same point and see what she does....

I have a feeling GM will be issuing a software flash soon to fix this little gremlin.

For startup, rather than holding 1 or 2 to get to your preset position, try pushing the start button without pushing the clutch in or pressing the brake....see if that works for ya.

And I'm pretty sure my seat returns home returns upon killing the motor and opening the door...

This is most likely not software related it's user error. Set seat position 1 and 2. Then that other button the recall seat, you want to set that as well, most people well wanna set that with the seat as far back as possible. If you don't set it separately it'll probably be programmed with one of the positions. This happen to me and I couldn't figure out the issue. I finally realized seat 1 and the easy exit seat were programmed the same. There is a corvette walk through on this on YouTube.
