Every once in a while, I do kinda wish I waited for a 1LE...but it wouldn't be practical to trade in the 2SS I've had for 9 months for it.

Theres nothing wrong with the 2SS, but the 1LE has more of what I want right off the showroom floor. The fact that I would take a loss to get another camaro should tell you that I like the car. I expect to take a loss, but I would need to get the new car heavily discounted to offset the loss for it to make sense for me. It's a longshot, but I can always dream. Why lose $10-$15K when you can supercharge and have the same power (if not more) than a ZL1?

For me the 2SS was not the right car, to much computers to drive the car like i am use to, like my 2.0T 6th more, but knowing what we know about the new ZL1 1LE that sounds like what i want more, so soon the 2SS goes away and the new car comes home, lets hope its the car i hope it to be.

You might sway me to stick with my 2.0T instead of trading in for an SS down the line. |

I think there are many reasons for the used Camaro6s out there.
1. Babies and other hazards of sex. The appeal of a reliable roadster got me into a Miata in the early 90s, possibly days after my son was conceived; its days were numbered. While the Camaro's back seat could work for small kids, it's not ingress/egress friendly with car seats. 2. Older spines. When my buddy finally got his dream M3, he was over 40 and confessed he just couldn't take it. Similarly, when my mentor got her Cayman S, it became a garage queen because she couldn't handle the ride. I managed to rent a Boxster before buying one, but I got the adaptive suspension (PASM) on mine. Magnetic Ride Control may make or break this car for some people. 3. SUVs and trucks, not cars. Car sales are down across the board, and trucks and SUVs are the automotive equivalents of a Swiss army knife, but this sort of increases the desire for me. Quick! Get one before there are nothing but five-door front wheel drive hatchbacks with a light pressure 2.0L four and a continuously variable transmission. (It's not everyone's dystopian nightmare, but cars and the open road are not the yearning of the young and the restless anymore.) 4. An emotional moment. A Camaro appeals to the emotions of some buyers. Some folks quickly tire of their playthings. Others may not be mindful of the total cost of the ownership experience, but who really wants to accurately calculate all that? Let Corolla owners feel morally and financially superior. God knows they're suffering. Some may be dead inside.
