Why does the Zl1 pull a 23.1 on the figure 8 and the 1LE pull a 23.3?

It can't be the extra power can it, for some reason it almost makes sense that the extra power can push more G's but at the same time, maybe not.

Yes, it can. Anytime the wheel remotely straightens and it can put down power= advantage. It's not a constant radius skidpad...

So with the chassis and tires being roughly equal, modding the 1le for more power without adding weight to the nose staying N/A, may result in closing the gap at least some on the 23.1 ZL1 time.

I mean... does it really matter what a car can do on a 'figure 8'??

Different day, different temperature, different humidity level, different driver, different time of the day, different fuel levels, different tire pressures, different well anything... you get the point

0.2sec is well within reason of being the same.

It does because 75% of people buy for the bragging rights.

Weight has a bit to do with it as well.

the Z06 and grand sport had identical times, I would've thought the Zl1 and 1LE would be the same thing but close enough. Regardless all awesome times considering the group of cars on the list. http://fastestlaps.com/tracks/motortrend-figure-8

I would say the reason the Z06 and GS put down the same time is the fact that they both were equipped with the Z07 package and as we know the Z06 has a more trouble putting down all 650hp than the ZL1 so it had less of an advantage over the GS than the ZL1 had over the 1LE.
