Car guys (and girls) just get it...
Was cruising around yesterday and happened to pull up next to a GT3. Guy honked pointed at my car gave the thumbs up and the "slow nod of approval" I did the same for his car. Those who know, just know.

The problem is alot of guys....including those on these forums are car owners...... not car guys.

I love rolling up to what you might expect to be a snooty driver (Porsche, Lamborghini, Audi, etc).....and they're just cool. Renews your faith in the auto enthusiast.
 (It also says something about the reputation of Camaro out there in the "real world"  )

Similar... Rolled up on a Gen IV Viper over the weekend on the expressway headed to super car staurday.. Always nervous with that because LEOs are all over in that are due to the show, you never know the other driver's attitude with things, etc.
I rolled up slowly and we both exchanged thumbsup/peace signs and that was it. We both ended up at the same show. Never saw the driver again (just his parked car). It's nice when you meet a fellow enthusiast on the road that just reflects your enjoyment of cars over trying to prove they're faster. Or just generally acting like a tool to you. |
