A Mustang Dyno is definitely the better tuning tool of the two. The Mustang Dyno is a load based dyno, the only drawback is that there are a ton of variables that must be input by the dyno operator.

A DynoJet uses a fixed weight drum that reads HP. It's a much more consistent reading, with no variables to input other that weather correction factor (SAE, STD), but it's not as accurate for tuning due to the load being fixed.

For Internet bench racing, DynoJets are better due to their consistency. But there are still variables that never get accounted for (tire air pressure, wheel/tire weight, how tightly the vehicle is strapped down, etc.)
The dyno jet 224 xLC system have variable load that is set by the dyno operator, especially with the Eddy brake option. My tuner was adjusting load values while setting my tune to account for different road conditions. The older dyno jets, or base dyno jets where a set drummwith a set load that was non-adjustable

True. There are more than one type of DynoJet. It was more of a generality due to the majority not being load based.

Also, to throw out there, there are other load based dynos as well from other makes.

You're correct, and there are just roller dyno jets as you mentioned.

How far are you from G Force in Huston? I'm not saying go to a dyno jet to get better numbers, I'm saying go to a tuner that will ensure the parameters that effect your power numbers are in check before they post a number to you. That car is capable of much more for sure.

I just seen your in San Antonio area.. there a few decent shops in your area. Not sure if you watch street outlaws, but Mike Murillo's shop is down there. Murillo Motorsports, he has a dyno jet and does all the tuning himself.

If you're in San Antonio, check out LSX Performance by 360 Automotive. They do good tuning work, and have a Dynojet in-house.
