Got mine back from XPel wrap and Ceramic coat
I believe it looks fabulous. Very happy with the results and think it was a worthwhile investment.
I could only find one seam on the car (complete wrap). That seam was at a e headlights, like everyone else's. |

) for both XPEL front bra and complete Ceramic Pro lifetime. 4K! Cheapest I found was $3800. This is with a $900 paint correction. Please tell me why I should do this? 4K will buy a lot of wax jobs. I am sincerely interested, just kinda in sticker shock. Not sure I need lifetime warranty but dropping to 5 year is not that much cheaper. There is a competitor called Crystal Serum, anyone heard of that or others? Somewhat cheaper, has a 7 year warranty. This is a confusing topic for me. Why did you do it and how many here have experience or comments on this? Sorry if this has been discussed here recently. I searched and only found one thread prior on this topic. I expected this would cost around $1200 but more than 3x that is a bit surprising. Thanks Mike

OP the car looks awesome!!
ZLWon I'm at the same cross road especially about the cost. I know I want Xpel I'm just having a hard time with justifying the cost. I did find a shop in VA that will do the front clip, part of the hood and both mirrors for 999. I believe this is where I'll end up, thinking these are the areas that will most likely need it the most. Would do the rockers but their 500 more. I hoping I can get the front lower and rear lower of the rear quarter done as well but haven't been quoted for that yet. I do believe you'll regret not doing the front after your first rock chip, but that just my opinion. Good luck on making your decision I know its been hard for me.

I spent a pretty penny on Suntek clear bra (partial front coverage) and Opti Coat Pro on the whole car. I like that the ceramic coating makes the water bead off but it's at the expense of a "non-slick" surface. No one ever told me the ceramic coating would not have a slick feel to it. On my next car I'm just going to wrap the front (entire hood and fenders/bumper) and just wax it. |

OP, your car looks fantastic! I had Suntek film applied over the entire front end, side rockers and high impact areas behind the rear wheels. The entire car was then topped with two coats of glass coating. Starting to wish I had put film over the entire car. It would certainly make it easier to maintain the black finish.

I personally don't think you'll get the same return on your money for a complete wrap. The higher impact areas were easier to justify for me.

Really need a full wrap only if you're going to track the car, and then it's a requirement!
If you are not, full front, hood, mirrors, door cups, rockers, and behind front and rear wheels and you'll be fine. Did my Z/28 with a full track wrap and our Convertible as per above and glad I did.Try Zaino over all. Shiny, slick, lasts, beads like crazy!

I felt the same which is why I only did partial coverage. Now that I have a few months experience with the film, I'm finding the risk of introducing swirls and scratches is much lower in the areas covered with film. This has made me re-evaluate covering the entire car, especially since black finishes are so prone to visible swirls.

Man that is beautiful. That is exactly what I have ordered. I'll be doing X-pel also, but not a full wrap.

If you DO use Zaino, did you apply it over the wrap with no issues and retain the Zaino specific properties?

A lot of the the ceramic coatings will bead water really great, but most of them will not sheet water. Another application of a hydrophobic topper would be necessary to achieve that. The Crystal Serum that was mentioned in an earlier post requires an application of their EXO to achieve excellent hydrophobic properties. The new Cquartz Pro has the hydrophobic already in it with one application. I am going to be putting on Suntek at the high impact areas and then applying either of the two brands of ceramic coating mentioned in this post. Both are absolutely great products and will give years of protection, with the proper care.
